Who here thinks the Kings miss the playoffs? Losing yesterday to the Canucks leaves them 4 points out now.

Well, the league wants to give the Kings every chance to make the playoffs, Toffoli is a key player for them and probably should have sat for a game, yet he gets off scot-free. The Flames should be three points up on LA, but a bad turnover by Kris Russell (who has been excellent this season) helped forced OT. It should be exciting down the stretch.

Kings still have to play the Nucks and Flames. They also have two games left vs. Edmonton while the other two only have 1 each. It's still a toss-up in my mind, but I do think LA will get in there somehow.

Oddly enough, I'm more confident in the Kings making it than the Bruins.

Heads are gonna roll if the Bruins miss the playoffs - Julien will certainly be gone (and maybe Chia-Pet)

Will be interesting to see how many coaches are avaiable during the off-season - Claude Julien and Todd McLellan shouldn't be out of a job for very long, New Jersey needs a new head coach for next season and Edmonton needs to decide if Todd Nelson is the answer. Also, can't forget about Toronto.

Julien is on the list of coaches who are infinitely better than Todd Richards.

I think McLellan is somewhat overrated. His final four seasons in San Jose will look as such: first round exit, second round exit, first round exit, missed playoffs. What does he have that makes a team think he's their answer when he wasn't SJ's answer?

McLellan's teams have put up some very good regular season totals up until this season. Yeah, I realize he's had some disappointing results in the playoffs, but with the parity in the league these days, often times that first round series can be the toughest. I think it's time for him and San Jose to part ways and I think he'll be snatched up pretty quickly.

I wonder what the salary cap ramifications would be....wasnt his contract the one with the ridiculous length and minimal pay at the back end?

I've always wondered why Kovalchuk always got the shit end of the stick in that fiasco - he's obviously a disingenuous shitbag but the Devils readily and happily let him out of his contract.

I don't necessarily think that the NHL should turn away world class talent...but the guy voluntarily signed the retirement paperwork and chased money in the KHL, and now that the ruble is in the crapper he wants back? Interesting.
