This trade has confused me a bit. What's the plan in Buffalo?

The team is going to be extremely young two years from now.

Obviously we don't know for sure who will come and go between now and then, but they'll be icing one of the youngest lineups in the league when Reinhart, McEichel, and whoever else they draft this year and next take the ice. Plus guys like Girgensons, Zadorov, Ristolainen, etc.

Obviously Kane and Bogosian aren't exactly old guys, but they're the type of experienced guys that the team is going to need around the youngsters in a couple years.

I think they overpaid, but I'm happy to have both players on the team.*

* - That assumes Kane can get his off-the-ice shit together. A big if, I know.

Why would they want Kane around such a young team though? The last thing I would think the organization would want is a player like Kane influencing their young guys. Sorry this move just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Kane goes from Atlanta to Winnipeg to Buffalo and then possibly to Edmonton? You're doing it wrong, Evander.

Why would they want Kane around such a young team though? The last thing I would think the organization would want is a player like Kane influencing their young guys. Sorry this move just doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I think they're hoping they can get him to get his act together. Murray seems like a take no shit kinda guy (see for example his suspension of Zadorov), so maybe he's right. I hope he's right.

They're both UFA after this year, so there's not much to be said regarding the players.

Didn't know they were both UFA. So it doesn't matter. Enroth is better than Lindback. Thought it was a wierd move. But Lindback should help them get the higher pick.

I can see the chorus of "Who's the... number one cop? SER-GEI BOB-ROV-SKY!" being played in the arena often.
