That is crazy. I had no idea this could happen. I thought when Kane went on IR this basically finished any trade potential until off-season. There goes that pipedream :ohwell:

Have no fear, my friend, Jagr is coming back to Pittsburgh.

In that case :yahoo: :suds:

(Really, it could completely blow up in the Pens' face and I'd still love getting Jags back.)

I love this trade :yahoo:

You should. I think it helps both current and future for WPG. They got two roster players that should help them push to the postseason (I think Myers will replace Bogosian easily and very likely find his old form on a good team) and three future pieces. Considering the circumstances involved, it's a huge haul. Not that Kane was holding a gun to Chevy's head, but he pretty much HAD to move him, and typically that stifles a return, but this is far from that. Hey, who knew he had such a big trade in him!

So now that NFL is over, I'm trying to move on to hockey.

Saw 2 Habs games on the weekend and I have to say they look very good. Very good. PK had 3 sweet assists on Saturday.

Then they eke out a win over Philly last night.

If Max P can continue scoring when it matters in the playoffs, unlike last year, they could be dangerous.

Winnipeg also clears out considerable salary with this trade:

Bogosian $4 mil this year, average of $5.5 mil over the next four
Kane $6 mil aav for this year and the next three

for

Myers, $5 mil this year, contract declining to $3 mil over the next four
Stafford $4 mil this year, UFA

In real dollars, they are saving $6.25 million, and in AAV, $6.5 million for next year.

Arizona claims Mark Arcobello from Pittsburgh on waivers today

Coyotes seem to like Oilers centres that have been cast away (joining Sam Gagner in the desert).

I think it's only right that the Yotes, as an offering, give the Pens Vermette. Come on, do the right thing.
