With Evander going out, Winnipeg was already in need of a top 6 guy, now they need a top 6 guy just to fill a void in their lineup. I nominate Jagr to Winnipeg for a 2nd rounder. Maybe Michael Ryder could be of some service? :noidea:

agreed ... if he finds himself on a team with strong veteran presence he would excel and mature very fast

As jeff Oneill pointed out yesterday, there arent many teams like that though ... Its not like it was when he came into the league and 35 year old guys with a solid resume were on the team to smack a kid when he got out of line

its a young mans league now ... guys coming out of their ELC are now getting PAID like they made it and have arrived ... so instead ... in winnipeg you had a 23 year old in Kane whom jets management was looking for to actually be THE veteran influence in the room

Sounds like he should head to Detroit then.

I think either of those options is better than Patrice Cormier.

I was gonna say I thought he wore a shield.

Hope he recovers fast. Never had the pleasure of taking one high. But I was terrified of it happening every time I played. I usually moved my face down on rising shots so it would hit my face instead.

/goalie through and thorugh

Clint Malarchuk just called Henrik a wimp.

I kid, I kid. The shot really looked pretty nasty. Just an odd fluke the way the mask got lifted by the stick blade.

/I know everyone knows who Malarchuk is, but the joke is that he played in a game 11 days (!!) after having his throat slit on the ice.

It was not the first "track suite" incident in Evander Kane's career. In Atlanta teammates decided to cut it and make a bikini out of it.

Damn, that's a ton of NHL goals between Gretz, Gordie, Bobby, and Brett.

"We'll teach this guy how to act like a proper adult... Let's ruin his clothes when he's not looking and then everyone can point and laugh. Maybe then he'll learn a thing or two about maturity!"

Chevy and his Jets are looking for a quite the package in an Evander Kane trade.
From the Canucks, they would like a package of Horvat, McCann and a first rounder.

yeah, no.

I like Evander, but not that much.
seems it should be a bit of a buyers market at this point.
broken shoulder, broken relationship w/ jets, downward goal trend past 3 yrs.
can't blame Chevy for starting with a high ask though.

Steve Mason injury sure is odd. Based on what I've read though, I'm thinking it's something like MCL. Apparently the knee injury that he had was bad enough that they considered surgery in the past, but gave him time and he got back out there...all he did was push off to go back to the net and something happened. May be meniscus too? That's something a LOT of athletes play through, but it can cause your knee to lock up or give out if it progresses too much.

I was thinking his back locked up because he's had a lot of problems with that, but it was odd, and I really don't know what might have happened

Mike Fisher is one lucky man that he doesn't have to face the Panthers again this season - Erik Gudbranson would have left him tattered and feathered

Does Fisher get the Lucic treatment for this one?

/And the guy who created that Vine better get his penalties straight. That was slashing, not spearing.
