Canucks trade Kellan Lain to the Oilers for Wil Acton

Wil Acton almost made the Coil out of camp iirc ... Kellan Lain ate his way out of canucks camp iirc ... makes the Utica Comets better :thumb:

Bryan Allen traded to the Habs for Rene Bourque

Good trade for the Ducks. Bourque can still contribute, as evidenced by the playoffs.

Not sure what the Habs are doing. I guess they want to bury Beaulieu AND Tinordi in the minors for the whole year, if possible. Bryan Allen is a 7th D on most decent teams, IMO.

I agree about Beaulieu and Tinordi but they had to get rid of Bourque. Team poison.

I only know a little about Byron.

I know all about Bourque and the Habs. I met his uncle for work a few times last year and got some inside scoops. Rene asked for a trade about 2/3 of the way through last season. The Habs didn't comply right away and then he sulked. Apparently his family gave him shit and told him to bust his ass if he wanted to be traded. Apparently he listened in the playoffs last year but he's been a ghost this year.

He had to go.

If I was the Habs I would have taken futures instead of Allen. He's slow and just not that good anymore. Never was REALLY good. I just don't see Allen fitting with the Habs but what do I know. I guess he'll bring some of what Josh Gorges brought. :noidea:

Pretty much market value. I wouldn't have signed him to that deal but it's pretty decent.

Seems like a lot of money for an "aging" guy. Guess his productivity hasn't really taken a sharp dive or anything, has 18pts in 20g, but going to be 32 when that deal starts. I suppose I'm "meh" about it. Not horribly awful, but not great. So, mediocre I guess. Probably the best you can expect in this market.
