Old story but is it still relevant? That fumble stat of the Pats dating back to 2007.

The latest proof of cheating by the Pats raises all sorts of legitimate concerns about further deceit.

How is it that the OL never gets called for offensive holding? You're not allowed to touch Tom Brady. How can that be?! :mad2:
amen and if you hit him it's a personal foul but they can kill luck or the other qb after he has let it go . 66 held on every play in the super bowl he tackled his block from behind and tackled him and nothing called .

So the new rule that the NFL created at the behest of Brady and Manning to allow them to prepare their own footballs would have no bearing on this stat? Are you suggesting that this stat wouldn't have changed because of the new rule but rather it had to be some kind of cheating? WOW! Brady is seriously in a lot of people's heads.

Not sure where you are getting your numbers, but I have Green Bay fumbling the ball 27 times (including playoffs) in 18 games, or once every 44.3 snaps (offensive plays + PR/KRs) in 2014. New England fumbled 19 times in 19 games (including playoffs), or once every 72.5 snaps.

Actually, sine Aaron Rodgers became the starter in Green Bay, the Patriots have fumbled less (98 to 118), on more snaps (7032 to 6612)* for a much higher rate (71.8 to 56.0). Actually, Green Bay never had a single season as high as 71.8 (70.1 in 2012 was Green Bay's only year over 60). The only thing that Green Bay has done better than New England in has been that Brady has fumbled 31 times to Rodgers' 12, otherwise it's all leaning toward NE.

*these numbers are regular season only.
I looked at ESPN. While I looked simply at give/take so yes my numbers are off. Rechecked Team Fumbles and Fumbles Lost: 2014 NFL Season

They have GB with 19 fumbles and NE with 13. That's through the regular season.

The reason I chose to compare NE and GB is because Rodgers statement he prefers hard balls.

I'd like to know what kind of balls Luck and the Skins like. Both teams had 31 fumbles in 2014.

TRUE, TRUE, TRUE, TRUE.

All teams most likely push the envelope but by their numbers of being caught means either their cheating much more than others. Don't care what the league or others think, or are just plain stupid and don't know how to hide the cheating.

Obviously we will never know for sure how long the've been doing it... But they're fumble stat is pretty telling... That's the one area where a deflated ball really play's into your favor..

Anybody wanting to use BJGE as an example of something should check his fumble stats in college.

IIRC, there weren't any.

Also, how many teams would bench a runner otherwise as good as Ridley for a moderate amount of fumbling?

As for receivers fumbling -- you know all the discussion about Manning's slot receivers taking bigger hits and more concussions than Brady's? That kind of ball placement might have an influence on fumble rates too, donchathink?

Well the homers are going to argue BB teaches ball security. Not their fault BGE didn't take it with him.

Wonder if they forgot to tell Ridley........ hmmmm.....

I've been beating the Patriots this week, but a simple comparison with Green Bay (Rodgers likes HARD balls) is only a difference of 3 in 2014.

Yup. Most teams get most of their fumbles from their quarterbacks. It's not hard to imagine that the top QBs fumble less. They are more aware in the pocket, they get the ball out quicker, and generally defenses are more afraid to attack them and get burnt.

They had poor Olines, but both Luck and Rodgers have taken a lot of sacks, especially compared to someone like Brady, and sacks will lead to fumbles.

Why Those Statistics About The Patriots' Fumbles Are Mostly Junk

This completely debunks the original HORRIBLE statistical analysis that there was anything fishy about the Patriots fumbles. The original article was an author totally misusing and distorting statistics, twisting numbers to fit the story he wanted to tell.

and so is the deadspin one you referenced.

they all can be interpreted differently and the metrics can all be manipulated.

Thank you for admitting it!!! Never met a Brady goober yet who will.

Didn't admit anything, just regurgitating your nonsense. You were blaming the Pats for things that the refs have control over.

The lack of fumbles for the patriots can be easily explained without having deflated balls. The Patriots played all of their games over the last 8 years in great weather conditions that no other team was able to benefit from.

So if Aaron Rogers likes his balls we'll say at the highest end of the spectrum (so as not to upset anyone), and they play in GB which last time I checked is pretty bad weather, wouldn't this logic mean they should fumble a lot more in GB? Check out the numbers you may be surprised?
