I've known Kentucky is a damn good team since they destroyed Kansas months ago, but seriously? What the hell? This team could beat the Knicks in a 7 game series. This is just unfair. . .

Knicks? I don't think they could even sniff a win in 7... but yeah, this is pretty boring. Everyone else is just playing for 2nd place.

Yeah the college to pro sports comparisons never get old.

Just don't understand why people say it.

Alabama wouldn't beat the 0-16 lions.

UK wouldn't beat the Knicks.

Etc....

Simple fact.

It does hold a bit more water in basketball where it didn't used to be uncommon to see guys come straight out of high school and succeed in the NBA.

The Knicks would wear out UK in a series 4-0. If UK played them to 10 points it would be a win

The worst pro team would still beat the best college team. Don't kid yourself.

It's all about matchups. Kentucky wasn't that scary vs Cincinnati.

If Kentucky played an 82 game schedule how many games would they win?? 5 or 6??? They would get swept by every NBA in a best of 7 series IMO.

Kentucky doesn't stand a chance against the Knicks.

Larkin is better than Harrison
Hardaway Jr. is better than the other Harrison
Melo is better than Trey Lyles
Bargnani sucks in the NBA but he's still a 15 ppg game scorer in his career.

Towns I think would start on this team.

Then you have the bench on the Knicks which is much better obviously.

Depends on who the best player on the court is... Team with the best player on the court always has a chance to win even if the rest of the team is not good...

With no Melo, who do the knicks even have??

Kentucky would clearly lose the series, but I could see them pullng off a win or 2

I don`t know about pulling off a win or two,but Kentucky has a damn good team. And they are the team to beat. That's for sure.

and who do the knicks have after melo?......All NBA worthy players.
It takes some immense talent to get to the NBA.
After a player or two,Kentucky has how many NBA worthy players on that team?

I don`t see Kentucky winning a game myself.
The better question would be,"could they eep the games close"?

I thought it was merely an expression to exaggerate just how scary Kentucky is.

Not once did I believe the OP was sincere about Kentucky taking anything, much less a 7 game series, from an NBA team.

I think the Cats vs NBA talk is a complete waste of time because it will never happen. Anyone can have an opinion and that opinion can never be proven right or wrong... again, it's a waste of time.

Now, talking about games that can/will happen, it's obvious that when UK is locked in, they're simply on another level.

Looking ahead to Notre Dame, I can see where they could give the Cats some problems but only if they stay white hot from behind the arc. Even then, the ability UK has to switch at almost every position allows them to guard for the entire shot clock. I'm looking forward to see how the UK players respond after dominating WVU last night.

Just wondering... with Carmello out, who would be the best player on the court between Kentucky and the knicks...

I strongly do believe that if Kentucky does have the best player on the court, they could pull off at least one win in a series... But of course they will lose the series...

Towns I believe would have the best potential, but right now at this moment is he better than Bargnani? I mean not even Anthony Davis came in in his first year and dominated the way he is now, and I don't think Towns is on that level.

Also Kentucky doesn't have the guard play to compete with the Knicks.

A few things here... (some just reiterating what has already been said)

1) It's pointless so don't get too worked up over it
2) OP was liking using hyperbole.
3) Most awful NBA teams are awful on purpose. (they're trying to get draft picks)
3b) They don't care about losing to other NBA teams, but they would annihilate any college team in a series.

Here's an idea: Don't piss Kentucky off. West Va, specifically Daxter Miles, asked for it, and Kentucky delivered. UK probably had some of their toughest practices leading up to last night thanks to that idiots comments.

It's all about matchups. Kentucky wasn't that scary vs Cincinnati.

Cincinnati didn't have a loudmouth player who incited the Kentucky players. I still think that Kentucky was going to win big regardless but the added fuel probably increased the margin a bit & motivated their players more (which should not be the case in these type of games).
