The only way Kentucky would stand a chance against a pro team would be if they were absolutely lights out from the field. They wouldn't score a point in the paint.

James Young, who would have easily have started for this club, was just banished to the D-League in Maine, for a team that I believe is still trying to lose games (but is very bad at it).

Just a thought.

I'm more interested in seeing what kind of damage a team like the Spurs can do to UK. Now THAT I would pay to watch. :D

Indeed they are, still think Arizona or Duke may beat them but other than that Kentucky may have a perfect season this year.

Notre Dame will be much better than you think. They are a whole lot better than just a three point shooting club.

I realize they're more than just a 3 pt shooting team, however, I don't see them being able to score at the rate they would need to in order to win without being/staying white hot from the outside.

I'm not overlooking anyone left in the field. If you're still playing, then you're either really good or really hot. Either way, anything can happen but I believe UK is simply too focused and talented to lose.

This is only a slight exaggeration...

Sixers_roster.0.0.jpg

Don't get me wrong, I think UK would lose in most scenarios, but if you're telling me you wouldn't give UK a puncher's chance against the dumpster fire in Philly, then I think you're vastly overrating the talent/experience in Philly, or vastly underrating the talent on UK's team. (or possibly both)

LMAO, Jason Richardson would have his fucking way with Kentucky.

I thought it was merely an expression to exaggerate just how scary Kentucky is.

Not once did I believe the OP was sincere about Kentucky taking anything, much less a 7 game series, from an NBA team.

Ya know, I should have known that my intended exaggeration would not translate well through text. No, I do NOT think the Wildcats would beat the Knicks. I meant it to be like "they would score 200 points against that team" kind of silly. I was just engaging in hyperbole. If I knew it would hijack the thread like this I would not have done it.

But getting back to the point. Kentucky is fucking scary.

I agree that all the NBA teams would beat Kentucky, but also believe Kentucky would do just fine from inside the paint.

They would get absolutely smoked in the paint. Towns is going to be a star but he would get tossed around like a rag doll by any pro team. They are VASTLY more physical in the NBA than college because they are much stronger.

LMAO, Jason Richardson would have his fucking way with Kentucky.

What year do you think it is? You think he missed 3/4ths of the games this season because he's healthy, and spry? Shit with a broken foot and a busted knee, he'd do good to have his way with me.

You might notice that Shaq isn't getting significant playing time in Philly either because he isn't on the team.

Kentucky's strength is their size. For a team to beat them, they must attack the BIGS of UK and get them in foul trouble. Pressure the ball handler at least at half court. I think Wisconsin or Duke are the only 2 teams that have a chance. Wiscy can play smart bball and good D. Dekker is coming on strong.

WV was scared and kept firing up jumpers. That ain't going to get it done.

If all Kentucky had was Carl Towns; maybe you would have a point; Please add Cully-Stein, Johnson, and Lyles to the inside which makes them one of the biggest teams out there; including the pros. These guys all have great running ability. It's the guards who need to pick it up in order to play pro ball and that's all about learning how to move without the ball and getting the ball where its supposed to go.

So you're saying...

Karl Anthony Towns
Age: 19
Height: 6'11"
Weight 255

Is going to get tossed around like a rag-doll by

Nerlens Noel
Age: 20
Height: 6'11"
Weight: 228

That's what you're telling me?

Don't give me wrong, I'd give the nod to Noel here, but not by the margin you're claiming.

You guys seem to be confusing "NBA players" and "76ers players" when most of the 76ers players wouldn't be doing dick anywhere else in the league.

UK this year couldn't hang, but how about an all UK for the last 6 years.....

Anthony Davis
Demarcus Cousins
KAT
WCS
Nerlens Noel
Enes Kanter
Dakari Johnson
Patrick Patterson
Julius Randle
James Young
Doron Lamb
Twins
Booker
Brandon Knight
Eric Bledsoe
John Wall

That would win a game or two

Problem is Kentucky has a lot of fouls to give; the other teams don't. WV is supposed to be a great pressing team; however Kentucky had very little problems dealing with that by using Ulis and Culley-Stein to get the ball past half court. My feeling is a team has to drive the lane and force the defense to move to them and then pass the ball back outside for the open 3. The only team I feel can do that well is Notre Dame. I also think that both Wisconsin and Duke has enough size to deal with Kentucky for awhile, however no bench to deal with Johnson and Lee who come in off the bench. Neither Kaminsky or Okafor can play anywhere near 40 minutes with that bunch. Also don't think Wisconsin can deal with Arizona, a team that has a lot of outstanding athletes who will be able to deal with Dekker and Kaminsky.

To beat any great team with size you have to have a balanced attack. You can't live and die by the 3. UNC was hot last night and has plenty of athletes, but Wiscy held their own, then took the game over after Krank got slapped in the face. Dekker looks pretty solid. If Wiscy comes out with the intensity they had the last 6 minutes of the UNC game, AZ better have it too.

WV came out flat and couldn't get the jumpers to fall. You have to go right at UK and get to the line. You can't come out scared. WV had a good season, but they weren't in Duke, Wiscy, ND or AZ's class.

Towns is going to be a great player. But he isn't getting pushed around by a bunch of NBA players all game rather than being the guy that pushes people around.
