I think the Cats vs NBA talk is a complete waste of time because it will never happen. Anyone can have an opinion and that opinion can never be proven right or wrong... again, it's a waste of time.

Now, talking about games that can/will happen, it's obvious that when UK is locked in, they're simply on another level.

Looking ahead to Notre Dame, I can see where they could give the Cats some problems but only if they stay white hot from behind the arc. Even then, the ability UK has to switch at almost every position allows them to guard for the entire shot clock. I'm looking forward to see how the UK players respond after dominating WVU last night.

Notre Dame will be much better than you think. They are a whole lot better than just a three point shooting club.

It was a perfect scenario for them last night.

West Virginia is a horrible shooting team that relies on turnovers to get extra shots.
The mountaineers cannot throw the ball into the ocean versus crappy teams, yet alone Kentucky.

They typically get 10+ more shots or more than their opponents thanks to the press. That hides poor shooting.
But, a physical elbowing handslapping press requires easy going officials.

The referees called an insanely close game last night the first half, Lots of whistles on both sides FAIRLY.
But, that really hurt any chance of a press. You cannot press if you get whistled for grazing a player lightly.

Without all the turnovers, you saw how bad WVU is at shooting last night versus an ordinary team.
Versus an elite defense, it was truly bad.

Had the referees let everyone play, UK still wins. But the game is much closer.

The thing about UK vs a pro team....if this team were kept together as a pro team, 5 years from now, it would be a solid playoff team. KAT will be an All Star, Lyles will be a real solid player, WCS will be a good defender, the Twins will be solid backups, Booker will be a starter, Dakari has big time potential, Lee has a chance to be on someone's bench. Little Ulis may be too small, who knows. And Poythress has the tools to come off the bench

I do think ND will have their moments on the offensive end. Their problems are going to be defending the post and keeping UK off the boards

Good point, also hard to press if you aren't scoring any baskets

I've known Kentucky is a damn good team since they destroyed Kansas months ago, but seriously? What the hell? This team could beat the Knicks in a 7 game series. This is just unfair. . .

I agree the are some BAD MOFOs...

But disagree about beating a PRO NBA TEAM, however if they stayed together all four years...as seniors I would give them at least 2 maybe 3 games...

NORTE DAME>Kentucky.....BULEAVE DAT!!!!!!!!!!!! NAWMEEN...

You make some good points. But let's not forget that West Virginia went almost 10 minutes in the 2nd half without scoring a single point. They also went about 8 minutes in the first half where they only scored 2 points.

They are really good. But no way, no how, could they beat an NBA team.

Still, they are head and shoulders (pun intended) above everybody at the collegiate level. But they could be beaten, on a given night in one game, if match-ups favor the opponent and they have a poor shooting game.

Pick line of reasoning and stick with it.

If you're going with the "on a given night" logic, then UK could win a game against an NBA team.
If you're going with the "no way, no how" logic, then no chance any other college team beats UK.

But you gotta go with one.

yeah, I just dont think that applies versus a NBA team. Just my opinion.

According to Vegas the Sixers would be a 17 point favorite against Kentucky on a neutral court.

To clarify, I think they could be beaten by another college team, if the match-ups favored the opponent and Kentucky was having a bad night.

Against an NBA team, I dont think the 'any given night' applies. If we're talking this Kentucky team, right now (age level, maturity, experience, etc) versus a professional team made up of players, with their age level, maturity, experience, the professionals would win.

The cats are great for college, but have no chance against an NBA team....any NBA team. T

I have stated before I thought Notre Dame would be a tough game for the Cats because they are quick, drive the lane and throw it back outside for the 3., After watching Kentucky last night play, not so sure anymore. They just keep getting better.

This is only a slight exaggeration...

Don't get me wrong, I think UK would lose in most scenarios, but if you're telling me you wouldn't give UK a puncher's chance against the dumpster fire in Philly, then I think you're vastly overrating the talent/experience in Philly, or vastly underrating the talent on UK's team. (or possibly both)

I'd be okay with Kentucky going undefeated. My grandfather is a huge UK fan (originally from Kentucky). He was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is going through chemo. If this is the last tourney he watches, a perfect season is the way to go out.

Okay, you make a good point. I think you may have swayed me. Looking at this, yes, they may have a punchers chance.

I just remember, the 2005-6 USC football team: espins did an hour show, before the NC game, about them being an all-time great college team, and then proceeded to list the NFL teams they 'could beat'.

Of course, they then lost to Texas in the championship game.

I just have a hard time with this college vs a bad pro team scenario. But, it would be different in basketball, so I will change my opinion and concede they would have a shot at beating an NBA team like the one listed above. Still, it would be a longshot, but a shot nonetheless.
