Question for pens fans.As A devils fan I can testify distractions killed us at the beggining of the year when we got rid of the distractions our level of play changed dramatically.I feel if the pens waived cooke they would be getting rid of A distraction and detramental player to their team.Also Lemieux would come across as A hero and silence his critics by replacing him with a young hungry player.By doing so I could really see it benefitting their team in A positive way what are your thoughts.

I have a solution for this head hitting stuff though. It's very simple. If a player does what Cooke did they should have to play every game their player is suspended for a player short & that players salary should still count against the cap.

You want to punish the player, piss off his employer and make it a risk to even employ the offender...use Mario's fine system and count THAT money against the cap for the following season. 1 million less cap space would get some teams to think twice before employing players like Gillies and Martin. It would also make guys like Cooke et al. very very accountable to their teammates and employers.
