As to the hit, it's bad in the sense that Cooke has tons of time to not do it, CLEARLY leads with the elbow, definitely is blind side, and goes right to the head with no doubt.

I think today is less about the hit and more about the message the NHL wants to send. For the sake of the league, I'd be happy to be wrong on this bet. A big suspension is warranted, we'll just see if CC has the balls.
