This has already been refuted by a coworker of the person who claimed the story.

Cowboys either are or aren’t interested in Ndamukong Suh
It would be very difficult to get him here, but I think it could be accomplished. Our max dollar would likely be in the 15 million range after cutting both Scandrick (2 mill) and T. Crawford (6 mill), getting Witten to play his final year for peanuts and getting DLaw to sign a longer contract.

Bottom line is it likely won't happen, but if the market for him is in that 15 million per year range, don't be surprised if we try. But if I know Suh, he will follow the money. So if someone offers 19, he's gone.

To save 6M on Crawford hes cut or trade has to be after June 1st.
If I'm not mistaken while they can release him now as a post june cut, but they cannot use the money until after June 1st.

They could probably withhold some of DLaw's signing bonus money until after that date or some random BS contractual negotiation. I can't know how much DLaw is actually going to get on a per year basis, but it sure won't be 17 million if we have plans to keep him.

PS
This is also the type of slick negotiating ploy that the Jones's can use to get Dez to bite on a lower salary. "We can go after Suh if you...."

Unless DLaw signs a long term deal, the cant touch that money.

Yes, they would have to get that contract done asap, which is why they would be behind the 8 ball in negotiations to actually get Suh. Very doubtful they can work out a deal that fast.

Agree, Suh isn't likely to happy for a bunch of reasons, but any cap saving plan and calculation must include Frederick restructuring. Cut his 2018 from $10M to $2M. Make the $8M "cut" a bonus that hits the cap evenly over 4 years and it saves us $6M in 2018 cap space and gives Frederick some cash up front.

Fuck that...
yea,,,the "sports narrative" clearly has never watched Martin play. He is twice the player Thomas is at this point. I'd say make it the other way around (Thomas and a first for Martin) and I'd THINK about it...

My bad to Mr Sports Narrative. I misread it. That makes a lot more sense than the way I read it.

Damn, not much left in the way of WRs. I wonder what Terrelle Pryor will get. Coming off a big year he only got one year for $6M. If he gets less than half of that I would have to be interested. Maybe his ankle/foot was bothering him for a while. He flashed in 2016 and looked like the best player on that Offense a few games.

Agree. The other story said Thomas for a 1st. I'd counter with a 2nd and 4th for Thomas, of course we'd have to get DLaw and Frederick lower cap wise. Mathematically I just don't see it happening.

I just report the news.
LOL...it's pretty funny when that happens on here. You find a Cowboy related item and post it and next thing you know people are thinking you are the writer and saying 'remember when Sir Camelot wanted to trade Martin'!!!

When it also includes paying big $'s for a player I am pretty stingy with trading early round picks. I'm not giving up a 2 and a 4th and then also giving him like $40M - $50M. I'm also not as worried as most about our secondary going forward and I may have been the most worried last year. But it seems now We have so many good young talented guys. We need an early down run stopper at SS and we can figure out the rest from there IMO. I'm more worried about LB, WR and OL. If I'm giving up big dollars that's where I'm doing it. If a DB is there in the first or second round that we love then yeah, I'm all over him, but If I'm paying a guy like Thomas a huge contract I'm giving up maybe a 3rd for him.
