And each others coach reflects that too. Edberg and Becker never liked each other. Edberg was extremely quiet and an introvert in his playing days. Becker on the other hand well...

Yeah that handshake did not seem like a you played a great match and congrats on another Wimbledon title. That looked like Fed was defeated in the round of 16 and all he said was good match and that was the end of that

as i've said a few times, federer probably won't win another major. he had a miraculous serving day against murray that he would have to duplicate to have any chance against nole in a best of 5 match. fed's backhand will always break down by a 4th or 5th set, even on grass, where it stays a little lower for him than on clay and hard courts.

i think people forgot that nole has had a tremendous serve for the whole tournament as well, and fed's return is not what it used to be.

congrats to nole on a tremendous come-back tournament after a heartbreaking french open loss.

it's been like that for a decade.

all goes back to nole's constant calls for the trainer, his on court antics, his obnoxious family in the stands and with the press.

since then, nole has become much less of a punkass bitch, and you can see his stupid ass family stays out of the spotlight almost entirely.

I think Fed only chance of winning is here but in order to win he will need someone to eliminate Novak for him. I can't see him ever beating Novak here again. Murray struggles with Fed so I think he can beat every other player here but he must avoid Novak

Yeah I remember that. I used to hate Novak several years ago but he became much more likeable in the last 5 years or so

Yeah I actually read yesterday on his twitter account that he was doing it and also that he was going to call the title match today for BBC

god, kids are stupid.

i'm a big nole fan, but it doesn't change the facts that i stated about him before his major attitude change over the past 5 years or so. he's become incredibly professional on and off the court since then.

bksballer, hate is a strong word. I do not believe you used to hate him. You probably did not like some of his perceived antics the way some people do not like Nadal's antics of touching certain parts before serving. Some people do not like other players because of the way they beat their favorites.

I couldn't have said it better! Looking for some breakthru's and for Nole to continue his dominance! :agree:  :thumb:

Congrats to Martina Hingis for winning both her doubles' finals; a tough WD match with Mirza yesterday and easy win with Leander Paes in the MD today, 1 and 1! ;-) :suds:  :thumb:

Damn, Fed should have won that first set. To get six more points over the course of the set before the tiebreak and still have it go into a tiebreak is a tremendous shame. That's probably the big "what if" in this match.

The reality is Fed's backhand was shitty for most of the match. Novak repeatedly targeted it, which was the right strategy. Roger's serve was off for most of the match outside of a ridiculous stretch in the second set. His forehand was great, but Nole never let him hit it. By the end, he was exhausted and outplayed. I still think Fed is capable of winning another slam, but it will have to be one where he either avoids Nole, catches Nole in an off day (which obviously didn't happen today), or he must shore up that backhand. His serve is the reason Fed is #2, and it is still a winning weapon against just about everyone. But Nole isn't "everyone," especially when it comes to returning.

fed's backhand will always break down by the 4th or 5th set of a match against nole.

grass is his best chance, but still, not much of one.

the ball bounces high on us open hard courts, and when fed has to handle a ton of backhands up around his ears, he withers quickly. hope he makes a deep run, but it'll be tough against anybody who hits with heavy topspin to the ad side.

And today he was spraying that backhand early.

I said Rog in 4, could not have been more wrong.

I still dislike Serby. Not as much as before when his mom used to show up. That is one severe looking lady. But I still dislike him.
