The Pens have over $14million in space. Need to resign Niskanen (I imagine around 2 mill), then get one Dman in FA/trade, because Despres is ready. They have 11 F signed, 2 G. Up front don't need to resign anyone really, unless they feel like bringing back Sully. He's really going after Parise. That said, if Zach goes elsewhere and Suter stays West? He's in trouble.

The Pens now have six D-man prospects signed to EL deals in their minor league system. Morrow, Despres, Harrington, Dumoulin, Samuelsson and Ruopp with Two more tonight on the way. What a group of blue-line depth that is.

Nope, nothing. However, I do like the defensemen the Pens have selected, I've seen quite a bit of Despres and Morrow, and Pouliot could turn out to be a nice pick as well. By the way, the Consol Energy Center looks like a beautiful arena.

I've not heard of Ruopp. Like his size 6'2" 200. Right handed shot.

Consol is great. If u ever get the chance, come see the Flames in the burgh. The city is really cool, too. It's worth the trip. I'm sure all the draft prospects have enjoyed the city and its scenic views. Loved seeing the pictures on Mt. Washington of the top draft studs.

though, i thought i read somewhere that parise wants to be 'the guy', which means he aint signin in pittsburgh.. so i'm not real worried about parise, but what is he up to?

If serious: risky, yes, but I know a lot of people who said similar things about a certain PA team last year.
