I've only watched a couple games so far, too busy with hockey. I'm glad we're playing well. I wasn't very optimistic about how we would start this year.

Hockey is an amazing sport to watch, once you understand the rules. I didn't like it until I moved away from Texas when I was 14.

Hockey is an amazing sport to watch, once you understand the rules. I didn't like it until I moved away from Texas when I was 14.

Grew up in the northeast and played youth and high school hockey. I remember the days of the Original Six. I was a Boston fan then. Later when I lived in Delaware I became a Flyers fan and subscribed for years to The Sporting News keeping track of not only NHL action but even the minors. When we moved to the Metroplex in 2000 I followed the Stars but baseball ... especially Frisco baseball became my passion ... but I still have a great appreciation of the game of hockey.

I can still feel the scar tissue on the inside of my mouth where I took a stick while I was forechecking an opposing forward against the boards when I was 14. My mom was not happy ... but as the treasurer of our club she just made me wear a mouth guard ... and to use my stick to trap my opponent's stick from getting up around my head again.

The speed of the game and the continual tension that fans endure with play going up and down the ice is the draw. There is no sport like it.

I understand the rules, I just don't like it

Don't get me wrong, the things they do on those skates is amazing, just not a fun sport for me to watch

Very true. I can definitely say I have more verbal and physical out-bursts while watching hockey than any other sport.

Ogando to the DL...........

Makes 3/5 of the rotation either on the DL or rehabbing.

I actually look forward to seeing Lindblom vs OAK on Monday.

Will drive LAD and PHL nuts if he comes in and is lights out as an SP when all they let him do over two years was throw an inning in the late innings (101 games, 100.2IP). Based on his spring and time at AAA... he could be another young star. And with 101IP ... he's not going to be star struck opening the OAK series either.

Lindblom isn't getting called up. Burns is according to the article on Texas' site.

Interesting ... ESPN has Lindblom too. EG has Burns.

Why would you call an RP up to make a start when you have an SP who has better numbers?

Burns: 13.0IP, 1.38ERA, 1.23WHIP
Lindblom: 43.2IP, 2.08ERA, 0.88WHIP

Iwakumi is the only AL SP with a better WHIP than Lindblom has at Round Rock.

Bet it will be a double swap. Burns as an extra RP until Mon and then Lindblom called up to start and Burns goes back down.

Didn't realize we had him starting in AAA, excellent numbers though

May just be Ogando's scheduled Spring Break.

Lindblom getting two or three starts depending on days off etc.

Would be crazy having Darvish at 26yo the oldest SP in the rotation.

Burns is up now...(for bullpen depth)
Lindblom gets the nod on Monday. (Burns will probably be sent down then)

Just noticed the incredible amount of talent sitting in Hickory (some taking their lumps); CJ Edwards, David Perez, Jorge Alfaro, Joey Gallo, Ronald Guzman, Jordan Akins, Lewis Brinson, Nomar Mazara & Nick Williams

JTA ... meant the prior as a recommendation if you have the time. Takes about 3 min to scan and read all the activity the night before. Scott puts a great product together. Have been for the most part reading Round Rock and Hickory recaps closely and skimming through Frisco and Myrtle Beach.

I have a business trip early next month and if I can work my flight schedule will take a delay overnight through Charlotte and run up to Hickory if they are home.
