how about this....

As they present the Vince McMahon award at the beginning of the show, to say a beloved legend, John Cena returns, takes the thing smashes it then proceeds to Give the AA to everyone out at the ring....Essentially turning Cena heel!

But the AH-HA! Moment from the fans would be, Cena becomes the badass face because everyone will be on board with Cena being heel and want him to beat Reigns.

Yeah it's probably Taker, or some other part timer returning for WM, where they will make an appearance two or three times before mania to try and sell their match.....leaving after WM to be another depleted roster...yawn.

They could have made the move where they could get people to cheer for Reigns. Have Shane in Reigns corner, and if Reigns wins, Shane gets control of RAW.....Instead, WWE writing falls flat again...THAT would have given Reigns a boost.

Triple H vs Roman Reigns
Dean Ambrose vs Brock Lesnar
Shane McMahon vs The Undertaker

oh boy...the only one worth watching is Ambrose, Lesnar......

Only way to save this is to have Cena come in and cost Shane the match, giving the Authority control still, and making Cena heel......

Of course, that wont happen as there is rarely any swerve at WrestleMania, usually faces prevail

I honestly never took that opening segment as Shane vs Undertaker. I took it as Vince picked the place and his guy is the Undertaker. We don't know who Shane is bringing in yet, but it has to be someone other than Cena. Shane has the crowd 100% on his side right now and Cena would be a let down. It has to be a Rock, CM Punk, Kurt Angle, or even Hogan type return. A very popular WWE guy but someone Shane can sell as on his side that he's bringing back to the company. Cena no matter who they spin it is a Vince guy in the eyes of wrestling fans.

hmmm interesting. But I did take it as Undertaker as Shane, given that Vince made it a HIAC match and stating, Shane can't take his ball and run away.

If that's the case I'd look for that to be the match with some run ins with some of the above guys possibly coming out to support Shane. Heck maybe even a Daniel Bryan appearance. He can probably come out and throw punches and kicks on someone. He just can't take a bump.
