Ski half-pipe?
What about Calgary putting a bid in to host the 2026 Winter Olympics? 2018 will be in South Korea, 2022 is likely headed back to Europe, Calgary already have a lot of the facilities needed to host the Games again already built (likely need some upgrades, though).
I for one would love to get the Games back in Canada again.
yep. but isnt there a rule that it has to be 10 games or 40 years before returning to a city? I cant recall the actual number but it seemed like it would never happen in my lifetime for vancouver. i guess 2016 is 38 years. those be some old venues dash
Saddledome will have been replaced with a new arena by then
Winsport arena could host curling (or short track)
Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary could be upgraded (still viable, in my opinion)
Ski hills aplenty to choose from (just not Nakiska again)
Canmore Nordic Center should still be okay for cross-country skiing/biathlon
Canada Olympic Park should still be okay for snowboard and ski half-pipe

Only .23 behind the Yanks in the women's bobsled - Still a chance for gold.
Defending champs Humphries, Moyse sit second in bobsled
American sled hit the wall 4 times in her first run and still finished .13 faster. This after repairing their sled with "spare parts" after a crash in training....Yeah that isn't the least bit suspicious
Rubbin' is racin' Wolfie...They must be using that higher octane fuel in the American bobsled.
Montreal/Quebec City 2026 joint bid or would that cause too much in-fighting?!? New arena being built in Quebec City for hockey, ski hills aplenty, it definitely would be doable.

And more importantly, I would go. It's still relatively safe for an American up there.
Yeah, I'd love for the Winter Olympics to come back to the US or Canada. Definitely plan on traveling to it the next time it's in the "neighborhood." Quebec/Montreal would be pretty cool.
I'm putting in Tucson's bid.
