I'm hoping we can mine some gold at the Ice Cube and of course at the Ice Dome.

What about Calgary putting a bid in to host the 2026 Winter Olympics? 2018 will be in South Korea, 2022 is likely headed back to Europe, Calgary already have a lot of the facilities needed to host the Games again already built (likely need some upgrades, though).

I for one would love to get the Games back in Canada again.

yep. but isnt there a rule that it has to be 10 games or 40 years before returning to a city? I cant recall the actual number but it seemed like it would never happen in my lifetime for vancouver. i guess 2016 is 38 years. those be some old venues dash :D

Saddledome will have been replaced with a new arena by then
Winsport arena could host curling (or short track)
Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary could be upgraded (still viable, in my opinion)
Ski hills aplenty to choose from (just not Nakiska again)
Canmore Nordic Center should still be okay for cross-country skiing/biathlon
Canada Olympic Park should still be okay for snowboard and ski half-pipe

they could have a little influx into banff and lake louise as well for it. they could use some facilities that would boost those areas strong. im all for it. I just dont know the time frame when it can return.

LAKE PLACID 2026!

Just kidding.

What about Montreal, though? Not too great a distance to Mont-Tremblont and would be a pretty neat feather in the cap to have hosted a Summer and a Winter Games.

Or if you don't want to give it to the Frenchies, Ottawa. But the world would prefer Montreal, just for strippers alone.

Good idea, but the next games to come back to Canada will likely be either the summer games in Toronto or winter in Quebec City

Montreal/Quebec City 2026 joint bid or would that cause too much in-fighting?!? New arena being built in Quebec City for hockey, ski hills aplenty, it definitely would be doable.

American sled hit the wall 4 times in her first run and still finished .13 faster. This after repairing their sled with "spare parts" after a crash in training....Yeah that isn't the least bit suspicious :dhd:

Rubbin' is racin' Wolfie...They must be using that higher octane fuel in the American bobsled.

Congrats to Mike Riddle of Edmonton! for his silver today...Too bad about Dorey though. he had the gold medal run going but just got too high on his last trick

And more importantly, I would go. It's still relatively safe for an American up there.

Oh my god... first it's the judging events, and now it's the timed ones too?

Honestly, you don't understand the point of the Olympics and your posts in this thread are annoying and stupid.

This guy is ruining this thread for me.

Yeah, I'd love for the Winter Olympics to come back to the US or Canada. Definitely plan on traveling to it the next time it's in the "neighborhood." Quebec/Montreal would be pretty cool.

I'm putting in Tucson's bid.
