I just find it funny that people get themselves in such a tizzy for something that in a couple of weeks they will care very little about until four years from now.

Yeah, why would anybody be upset to see athletes work hard for 4 years to get to an Olympic games, only to not be given a fair chance at a gold medal

I took a class in college to fill up a semester, really enjoyed it, and kept doing it. I haven't done it much lately, though, unfortunately. I've become orders of magnitude more self-conscious in recent years.

Heh, I'm the opposite. I was orders of magnitude more self-conscious in HS and college than I am now. Messed up my teen years. Now, I just don't give a shit.

I have a daughter in competitive gymnastics (hey what do you know another judged sport) and I've seen plenty of home cooking when it comes to the meets we've attended and how scores are determined. All you can do is try to perform your best and see what happens.

/We're going to the BC provincials in Kamloops next month.

lol - Matty, it's funny, but the mothers at these meets are the worst. They're writing down every score and comparing notes and some of the language you overhear, well, it makes me blush. I just sit back and have a good chuckle and just hope my daughter doesn't take a bad fall off the balance beam.

A test boarder in the cross course said he slid by a gate and didn't even see it. Would have been kinda fun to see the biathlon run in those conditions though....

Jennifer Jones became the first womens rink in Olympic history to go through the round robin unbeaten (9-0). However, I think Muirhead will beat her in the semis.
