I want to say Holland has something up his sleeve, but nothing really makes sense. Could he possibly be Posturing? Trying to light a fire under his goalies? But then would Babs feel undermined? Is he in on it?

I'm confused. He wouldn't go unclaimed by noon. Somebody is gonna grab him.

He's got nothing to lose. He has seen life with Joey MacDonald in net and an injured Howard as backup, with McCollum and Osgood in the sick bay, and he's angling for some insurance. If it doesn't work, he's built up some goodwill with Nabby and Meehan.

Just a note on Nabokov's KHL stats this year...

Nabokov has a 3.02 GAA with a 88.8% save percentage. For guys that have actually started 20 games or more in the league, he has the 2nd worst save percentage in the league and is roughly four points below the guy we was rotating starts with for SKA St. Petersburg.

I'm not saying he's washed up or won't be any good, but he is 35 now and I doubt he left SKA St. Petersburg for "family reasons" as is claimed. Especially if he's willing to sign to the NHL so soon after for the league minimum.

I was kind of wondering why nobody is talking about how bad he played in Russia. They kept saying it was health issues, but not many goalies keep playing with health issues...

They have to examine the waiver rules a little more. This whole system is getting a little ridiculous. The Wings go out and do the work, get a contract in place, and then another team just benefits from all that? I hope they make this work a little better this offseason.

I mean...it's never been much of an issue in the past, merely because of the ol' boys system that basically said "Don't touch or your RFAs next summer are toast." But this season it seems plentiful. The question here is: Will he report?
