I'm sure that I'm not the only one who feels this way, but I feel like this offseason has been one of the more quiet ones we've had in years.
yeah I agree, in the past there has always been a few rumors to keep it interesting but this time its pretty dead. Dip called it after winter meetings. He got a bunch of moves done early in the off season then basically said that's it. Just an overall strange off season.I'm sure that I'm not the only one who feels this way, but I feel like this offseason has been one of the more quiet ones we've had in years.

I would say kind of depressing since they haven't added a top rotation guy.
I agree. I think we're done for the offseason. Seems they have "budget constraints" and will not make a run at a decent picture. Meanwhile the Astros are going for a top end starting pitcher, lol.
If ownership has "budget constraints" then how the hell were they able to buy this team?!? It's a bullshit cop out on their part to "just" hit the bottom line to profit. If these assholes would spend the money on top pitching with the hitting we have which I do like, then they would be making money buy the boat loads with a winning team and playoff home games. What a bunch of jackasses!
I completely agree with you. When I mentioned "budget constraints" I meant that the franchise won't spend more than they have allocated already. I completely agree we should spend more, but it is not happening, unfortunately.
Good for him. He turned his writing into a serious career. I liked his writing a lot, but good for him. He's living a fan's dream.
Some of the specific players projections seem a bit off but overall it lines up with what I would project for this team. 76-78 wins.Fangraphs released the 2018 ZiPS projections for the Mariners earlier today.
They seem pretty conservative on the Mariners position players, I'd think they'll outperform those projections. The starting pitching looks pretty bleak, though.
I thought of him as a pompous ass, but that's just me. Now he will finally have to put up or shut up.

I completely agree with you.. disagree with him and he was a complete dickwad and couldn't defend his position well enough to prove his point. He had a bunch of lemmings following his "teachings" which to be honest thought was funny. I have never commented on USS and stopped reading it few years ago (except for very few things), so I may not be up to date with the content they have been putting out.I thought of him as a pompous ass, but that's just me. yeah I think its cool that a fan got a cool job.. but i wouldn't say happy for him, guy seems like a dick. He deserves it though he put in a lot of time, I will give him that so good for him.I can definitely see why you'd think that. Just kinda cool that he started off as a fan writing about the team (just like we do) and got hired by a MLB team. You have to be happy for him.
Kind of being a smart ass here, but Jerry doesn't have any prospects left to deal or money to blow on average players.
