but .......if i have to i would trade gordan and ramirez for.... scott kingery (phili's) and tyler gilbert and luke leftwitch
and bailey falter

  • Draft: Round 5 (2015, PHI)
  • School: Chino Hills, CA

gordan is 13 mil in 2019 ramerez 4.2 mil this year arb eligible next...that could be close to 17-20 mil saved alone
and the possible reallocation to....starting pitcher.. with hernandez taking ramirez spot
still leaving a CF to be had
and assuming the resigning of cruz...but if not...then voggy will be much cheaper
and a CF like pollack would be the order

but really gordan is a better hitter than pollock..for an ave of 270..and pollock an ave of 257..fairly consistant over the last three years for gordan and pollock..only gordan was even better last year

pollock hits more HR's..gordan steals more bases
as we have seen gordan should not be a full time.. lead off guy but he can
i think the best spot for him is the #9 spot to add to the running game

going
haniger/or segura
seguria /haniger
cano

cris herman is as good a back up catcher as the mariners need
.......................................ab...............hr.......................ave
14 Herrmann, C SEA C 35 ..72 6 18 4 2 ..2 7 10 23 0 0 ...250 .337 .444 .782

while zunino could go to hitting school..........again..lol
but that makes herman a good backup for Z man
and he is a LH off the bench

but here is the one i really like...and it is a good trade for both sides
voggy for kingery(phili's)
the phili's get an up and coming 1B L/L..which they need...and he could hardly do worse than santana
and they have crawford..so they could trade kingery
which the mariners could use as back up for seager and segura and cano
while he and gordan could be utility guys...or whatever..... it works ...lol

while mike montgomery has been out of the bull pen for the cubs for the last 2..1/2years
he is now starting for them but still only starts about 15 games a year

which is what i feel felix can prob get away with10 to 15(more early in the season than late though..like ten before the all star break)...when he came out of the bull pen he was devastating
and i would like to see him do that some more...this coming year to see how it goes
in long relief..or just two or three innings to get some work out of the pen

Not sure if the farm system will get the attention necessary for a rebuild under Dipoto's leadership. My understanding is while Jerry Dipoto was under employment as the General Manager of the Los Angeles Angels and during his employment with that organization he methodically depleted that farm system.

im ok on the farm system other than starting pitching...and here is the real deal..they have lewis and bishop at AA
falia at AA..and white will be at AA and donnie walton
mariners need lewis bishop and falia at aa for next year
with mcCoughan,.(.A LHP idk on who), bannister, misiwicz, ljay newsome this is ok for next year

arkansas went to the playoffs and lost to tulsa...so whoever was behind them has to be worse...as 3 is greater than 2(math class)

from modesto on down they are good for now..and will be next year as well

what they all say is.....10 pct of minors guys ever make it to the majors...of those 10 pct the mariners are low on prospects compared to some other teams systems...... which teams like atlanta may have 9 guys and the mariners only have one

of the ones
they say are the 10 pct..usually sports writers.(but maybe fan graph's as well)..but they are prob close to right...but i like to leave a bit of space for the human factor

if they go with voggy to save14-17 mil for cruz...then they can afford a starting pitcher
and trade for kingery...which they need varry bad as backup infield and seager platoon
then they prob keep span for LF/Cf/DH or

trade for a CF R/R...i would not want to....but..if it is a money thing...then ok have to do it
if you say ramirez then ok as well
for a total of about 30 mil

MLB Power Rankings: Week 26

1. Boston Red Sox

Record: 106-51

Last Week: 1

The Red Sox beat the Orioles 6-2 on Monday night at Fenway Park to set a new all-time franchise record for wins in a single season and clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. Nathan Eovaldi started that game and racked up a season-high 10 strikeouts over five innings of one-run ball. The 28-year-old right-hander, who was acquired from the Rays on July 25 for pitching prospect Jalen Beeks, has registered a 3.46 ERA and 44/12 K/BB ratio over 52 innings in a Red Sox uniform and could be asked to make a start in the upcoming ALDS. Boston will open postseason play next Friday at Fenway Park against either the Yankees or A’s.

13. Seattle Mariners

Record: 85-71

Last Week: 13

Seattle fell 7-3 to Oakland on Monday night and had to watch as the Athletics celebrated the clinching of a postseason berth at Safeco Field. The Mariners had an 11-game lead on the A’s in the American League Wild Card standings back on June 15, but they went 10-13 in July, 12-16 in August, and are 10-11 so far in September. The longest active postseason drought in Major League Baseball will continue for a 17th year. That’s also the longest active postseason drought across the four major sports in North America. But, hey, our sincere congratulations go out to longtime Mariners ace Felix Hernandez for officially becoming a United States citizen.

I have to admit, their 85-71 record is really weak on what it could have been.
