CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports Colts QBs coach Clyde Christensen is Lions coach Jim Caldwell's "top choice" to serve as Detroit's offensive coordinator.

Caldwell and Christensen worked together in Indianapolis from 2002-2011. When Caldwell was named the head coach of the Colts in 2009, he promoted Christensen to OC. Current Colts coach Chuck Pagano retained Christensen as QBs coach. Christensen was a major influence on Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck. He'd be a terrific hire to work alongside Matthew Stafford.

In end, Caldwell fit profile Lions set up. HC experience, offensive minded, communicator, works well with QBs.

Offensive minded? He was the OC of the 29th ranked offense this year.....works well with QB's? Who manning? Cuz he sure didnt help painter at all.....flacco looked bad this year too...

Hell we should of hired linehan to be HC...

Actually i HOPE they did........let them draft the next mike williams or charlie rogers or ryan broyles or titus young.....if anything, whoever the lions want, teams will stay away from that player....unless they are a top 5 pick...well even chuck was a top 5.

So the lions took all day to find a coach.....once they warmed up the jet.....and their choice picked the titans......they hurry up and hire caldwell 24hrs later.....what am i missing? Were they worried they wouldnt get caldwell?

I also like how theyre spinning it.....whisenhunt and caldwell were their only 2 choices with the lions being OK with either one.....yeah right! They got left at the alter and found the best looking ugly chick in the crowd to marry instead.....typical lions
