Let The Games Begin!!
GO UK!!!!!!!!!!!!
C: Just wait for them to miss their FT's in the tournament which is the Calipari way, every year. I see no reason to think this year will be any different. This team isn't better than the Wall, Cousins, Bledsoe team.
People who can't find anything negative about a team usually just fall back on "well the coach can't win the big one"
The biggest difference between the "Wall" era at UK a few years ago and this team is that this team will play defense. I play better defense than Wall. He's abysmal. This is also a better all around team.
That's not to say they will win it all, but certainly, if compared, I would rate this team with a much better chance than the won that had Wall a few years ago. I don't even think it's that close, really.
A win is a win. UK is playing against themselves, like I've said before. It's hard to get up for every game and match that intensity that each team is going to bring against the best team in the nation. It says a lot when UK doesn't play its best and is still isn't really a threat to lose.
UC came away with a huge win on Saturday. They let Seton Hall back into it in the 2nd half and got sloppy on offense, but made key FT's down the stretch. Loved that Dixon finally grew a pair of balls and attacked the rim and got to the line for 10 FT's (made 8), but would love to see him make more when he drives...only 3 of 10 with shots inside the paint.
But with Kilpatrick and Wright outside, they really need Dixon to step up and drive the paint to open things up for that outside shot. Kilpatrick is a good driver, too (better than Dixon) but Dixon can't hit the 3 (27% on the year going into the game) so having him drive and kick out to Kilpatrick or white is a better option. Also, his driving frees up gates on the offensive glass, where he's had some monster put-backs, same with jackson when he's in the game.
UC really needs a win Thurs against a ranked Lou team, or Marquette...UL is the easier win as I think Marquette is vastly under-rated.
Huge win for UC last night! Gates was a beast for 4 minutes until he had to sit the rest of the 1st half. Justin Jackson showed why he's a good compliment to the 4-guard with his defense and athleticism, but he still needs to bulk up.
UC didn't need the fight with XU to turn the season around...they needed Jaquan Parker healthy (XU game was first back).
Good to see the seniors go out on top with a win against a quality, NCAA defining, win.
