Bears signed Atlanta WR Marvin Hall. They also resigned Nick Williams.
Not much up info-wise on Hall, maybe he's there to bolster the STs, kind of Bellamy's replacement in that aspect. Hope he pans out. But I'm happy they resigned Williams. He brings some needed depth to the interior DL. For that matter, I'm also happy that they're bringing back Robertson-Harris and Irving. RH is more proven as a rotational DE, but I like Irving's potential as an edge rusher. Doesn't have the ideal body for it, but he really hustles any time he's out there.

RRH is a starter on many teams in the league. Dude's a stud. Hadn't heard that the were re-signing him yet...very glad to hear that.

Also touching on a previous post...Javon Wims needs to be on the field. I expect a big jump from him this year in terms of actually playing. Kid has stud receiver written all over him.

Yep, we have him for at least another year. Like you, I have a very high opinion of his play. His motor never stops moving. And we're also both in agreement on Wims. I actually thought he should have seen more action last season. With Bellamy out of the picture, I see no reason whatsoever to keep him from taking the #4 receiver spot. And who knows, maybe even push for #3.

Is Shaheen going to develop or do you think he’s a bust?

Not quite ready to label Shaheen a bust, but I've been fairly disappointed with his results to date. Granted, he has spent a sizable amount of time off the field due to injuries, but even when he's been back on and healthy, he's been less than impressive. It might be a little strong to say this is a make or break year for him, but it's getting damn close.

He just seems to be made of glass. Dude should/could be a match-up nightmare, but the second he gets back on the field, he gets hurt. At this point he has to be considered a bust, or at the very least, on the cusp of being a bust.

Bryce Callahan signed a 3 year $21 million deal with Denver. Fangio likes him some Callahan. Good for him.

It's funny how we talked about only being able to keep Amos or Callahan. Turns out we got neither. Clinton-Dix/Skrine ain't too bad of consolation prizes.

I pretty much gave up thinking we could sign at least one of them when other free agents in their respective positions started racking up major $$$ contracts. If Callahan stays healthy, I feel he's the best slot corner in the league. The key word tho is healthy.

Robinson/Miller/Gabriel will be our top 3. Mostly because of how they compliment one another. Wims couldn't play Gabriel's position or run those plays we have for him. He'll be in there to spell the other two at times and could step in for an injury. I'd be careful taking time off if I were either of those two, though. Because I also like Wims and think he could put on a show in a couple of games if given an opening.

Hall will be a nice backup to Gabriel. Given their similar speed and style.

I know when I said he could maybe push for #3, it really wouldn't be due to flat out replacing Gabriel, because as you said, they really are two different receivers with differing skill sets. But I feel Nagy is nothing if not super flexible with how he utilizes his personnel. Maybe with Patterson or even Hall on board, either or both eat into some of Gabriel's opportunities on the field. And Wims might find himself in a situation where he simply catches more passes in total than any of the other three. A little far fetched I know, but I never rule out anything with this inventive offense.

Houston went to the Colts for 2 years, $24 million. We couldn't come close to matching that. There goes that dream. The Colts could be quite dangerous this upcoming season.

Maybe there's a chance of getting Ansah for cheap.

I never banked on us signing Houston and while Ansah would be more realistic and definitely cheaper, I think he's looking for a chance at a starting spot. He won't get that with the Bears. If he's willing to come in as a rotational player, sure why not.

He was a pleasant surprise last year. Had next-to-no expectations of him going into last season. In fact, I wasn't even sure he'd make the team. He had himself a decent little season tho.

Getting Mack really took the pressure off. If not for Mack, it would have been him and Floyd starting with Irving, Fitts and Acho backing up. Lynch seemed to start out hot then cooled off as the season went along. Solid depth.
