The Broncos probably add at least 2 CBs. Given Callahan missed the entire year, you can't count on him next year. If he comes in and plays at a high level that is great, but you have to be prepare for if he ends up on IR again.

I expect a FA CB and a young CB.

Could possibly sign two free agent CB's depending on the cost of them. May sign one vet CB to compete for a roster spot and another that is a big splash.

That would be disappointing because as a fan you will not know what game players will site out. How disappointing would it be to make arrangements to attend a game and your favorite player doesn't play? Definitely disappointing.

Eliminate one preseason week and play the normal schedule you have now. NFL owners of course are going to vote for more games for more money. Players bodies are taking a toll the way it is now. Enough games.

From a players perspective I would want to see larger rosters and/or an additional bye week if there are going to more games. I have 3 ideas on how to do this:

• No game day inactives.
• Add the Practice squad players to the active roster.
• Allow Practice squad players to be active for 4 games year to fill in for an active player that will not dress. A player would have to be ruled out on Friday in order allow a practice squad player to fill the roster spot. The player doesn't have to be injured to be ruled out.

This should allow less snaps for most players. QB probably the exception. I don't know that I would be against an imposed snap count within a season. So let's say there is a snap count based on position (I will say that I have not taken the time to look up what the average number of snaps are at each position so percentages are based on my perception of the percentage of snaps that each position typical takes):

• Quarterback - 95%
• Running back - 70%
• Wide Receiver - 80%
• Offensive Line - 90%
• Tight End - 85%
• Defensive Line - 85%
• Linebacker - 85%
• Cornerback - 85%
• Safety - 85%

Maybe you play all your starters for the full game in critical games and roll the dice playing some backups more in games against teams with worse records.

I think this would do a couple things:

• Provide more in season rest for some starters which in theory could save on injuries.
• Force teams to play their backups to get experience as part of their development.

Not sure how CBA negotiations are going to go. The players are divided into 3 groups:

• Completely against the 17 game schedule
• Ok with 17 game schedule with some tweaks to the CBA
• Ok with the CBA the way it is

Based on reports the owners are not willing to negotiate any further but with the players so divided I don't think they will get the needed votes to ratify the current CBA. The NFL and NFLPA have agreed to push the start franchise tag designation out until Thursday with the final day to franchise a player on March 12th. Here is a link to the latest updates:

My gut feeling is the players are probably going to be better off to accept this CBA, but I am starting to get the feeling that they are not going to, and thing will have to restart with new NFLPA leadership. I have heard rumblings that if this CBA is not agreed to the owners are going to take back some things as not having the CBA in place will hurt the new TV contracts. I think the owners are going to strong arm the players into 17 games one way or another, and in 2029 probably looking at potentially 18 games.

I do like the raising of minimum salaries and improving benefits for retired players and practice squad players. A a fan the 17th game would be awesome because it is another week of football, but from a players side I would be concerned. I think maybe a 2nd bye week would potentially get the deal done, but the owners probably want to keep that in their back pocket for future schedule expansions. The other thing that may help is if the bye weeks were closer to the middle of the season. Players probably don't need a bye week in week 4, and probably need on prior to week 12. Have bye weeks start at week 7 and end by 11 probably does a lot more for the players from a recovery aspect. The other thing that would help is scheduling of Thursday night games with an eye on when the bye weeks fall. So if you have a week 11 bye week maybe have a week 4 or 5 Thursday night game, or if you have a week 7 bye you get a week 14 Thursday Night game. There has to be away to schedule these so they are better for the players, and really indifferent to the owners.

With Simmons getting 14+ million next season, and probably around 15 million for Jones I don’t think we can afford Harris or Slay, especially for 2021 and after.

I say draft our players . FA go after bargains and resign our players that fit what our coaches want .

That does not sound sexy I know but we are not that far off that we need to pay crazy money for one player. Platoon fresh players before you pay high dollar FA that have never been in your system.
