I just see ZERO reason to draft someone that rated high as a Tackle to play Guard. It makes ZERO sense. Throw fooking Cross in at Guard then if you think it's that easy and draft one of these top Tackles. But that it, its not THAT easy.
I think the bigger issue is that you need a player that is willing to move from tackle to guard. Most tackles are reluctant because tackles get paid more

IDK if "just for the sake of need" is how I would put it, but team construction does matter. How efficient can the offense be if the OL doesn't vastly improve? The Seahawks OL was ranked near the bottom of the league in 2024 (any where from 28th to 31st ). Need a difference maker for the IOL and one will be available with the 18th pick, without being a reach, at pick 50 and later maybe or maybe not. There will be a very good outside type of receiver available later in the draft and with JSN and Kupp, WR or TE just isn't a big enough priority to use the 18th pick on. Nor is Golden so good that a team should never pass on him. Most see him as a nice WR2 in the pro's.
I don't want to reach for a OL w/ 18 just for the sake of need is what I meant to say...

It comes down to i have ZERO belief that this FO knows how to even grade out Olineman and its bad. You have talking heads that SHOULDN'T know better than your guys laughing at your picks when talking about Oline and saddly THEY have been more right than the Hawks FO. Nothing has changed so why all of a sudden this trust that they get it right this time?

This FO Group needs to poach proven Oline talent from other teams because they have proven over the years that they can not evaluate it. I bet more than HALF the people on Sportshoopla could have done a better job at drafting OLINEMAN than the Hawks have.

We will get to see first hand once again in a month how they have improved or "stayed the same" in that area. The GM didn't change how he values Olineman so i see no point to believe the scouting has improved for Olineman also.

Well yeah they haven't been good at it. Got to hope the light comes on this year and they seek help from folks with better insight. Supposedly the offensive staff has been hired to help in this regard (improve the OL). All we can do is wait and see.
