I think the best thing we can do is grab best OL/DL available with the first two picks and grab a WR in the 3rd round where the class is actually fairly deep. You're not likely not going to get a stud #1 WR from this draft, but maybe a decent #2/#3.

Either way, build the OL/DL. Reed/Hankins are not getting younger, Williams may have just had his best final year in the NFL (yes he's not retiring but I mean he wont be able to duplicate that again in future years)... Murphy had some injuries all year. And then I don't have to convince anyone on the IOL.

With this draft, there ARE things available with IOL/RT (this draft is horrible if you need a franchise LT which we don't) and some DT/DE positions if you just need a 'good players' - which we do. You're not finding Nick Bosa in this draft in theory.

We do NOT need to be spending 1st and 2nd round picks on QBs, TEs (wtf? I really fuckin will lose it if we do that), or DBs (horrid in this draft outside of guys that will go well before we pick, namely the Michigan kid, everyone else basically is whatever).... and ILB is a need but that position sucks ass the most. Any ILB this year would be going in the 6th round in most drafts, and we just traded shit for it and also spent a pick last year in the 4th.

If we draft QB/TE/DB/ILB with our first round, I'm pulling a Witherspoon reaction. Sorry guys.

I mean he'd definitely allow Murphy to move more to Reed's role.

His draft profile:

Overview

Grant is a broad-bodied, two-down nose tackle whose tape can run hot and cold depending on the game and the types of blocks he’s facing. He struggles to anchor when hit with down blocks due to his narrow base and tall pads, but he uses his power and length to beat single blocks and split double teams when he finds the crease. He had some sack production in college, but it might not translate to the league. He’s expected to be a monster tester but needs to prove he can become a more consistently dominant force to be more than an average starter.

Grey Zabel
North Dakota State · OT · Senior
Zabel is in consideration for the first round after the way he played this week. He looks like a Day 1 starter. We knew he would be ready to compete at guard and tackle, but he looked really comfortable at center in practices, as well. If you can play every position on the offensive line, that is going to endear you to a lot of GMs and coaches around the league.

Harold Fannin Jr in the 2nd round? I'm really liking him as a receiving threat at the TE position... I'm also good with us trading down at the 18 spot and drafting a Guard later in the 1st round or early 2nd pending on how far we trade down...

I know we have other needs, and I haven't studied the available players all that much, at this point, but if Tyler Warren falls to us and we take him, I wouldn't be at all disappointed. Thst guy is a fucking beast... if PSU had kept spamming plays with getting the ball to him in the air, on the ground and at Wildcat (where can actually throw the ball), they would have been in the Championship game (and then that would have been more entertaining, at least)

I've seen a recent Mock that has him going 4 overall to the patriots so it seem extremely unlikely he is there

Agreed, but if things change and he falls, I wouldn't avoid drafting him just because TE isn't our primary need

So BPA? I always feel like BPA is the way to go unless you have a superstar in that position all ready.

That one is new and interesting. Most mocks I've seen land him in Indy.

If by some miracle Warren falls to 18 and we select him than JS has spent money on the o-line which would be a good thing.

mmmmmmz or Warren will be an excuse that we don't have to spend on the OL because we 'patched' it with a receiving threat who is now asked to block 24/7..........

Hard pass on TE in round 1, its a luxury position and plenty of good ones were picked later

Question to all of you. What would you think if the Hawks were to draft right guard Miles Frazier ( LSU ) in the 3rd round? I would be happy to get him in the 3rd round and wondered how you all felt about it. He is a pretty good guard that also graded out well. I been going through a lot of "options" for the Oline and i felt like getting this guy in the 3rd ( in my eyes ) would be a homerun. I also noticed that soon the Edge and CB spots will be weak point on this team with soon to be FA ( 2026 ) just wanted to bring that last part up as a option for 1st or 2nd round finds.

Here is some film on him ( no sound which is how i like it )

Are we just going to bench him the entire season or put him on the inactive roster list like Haynes?

........ Sorry, I was really pumped about that pick and WTF? Might as well have just let someone else have the 3rd round pick for free.

Anyway, to answer your question, any IOL BUT RG is fine. We just took a pure RG who wasn't doing horrible in a college offense in the NFL... see what you can get out of him before we waste more resources on another RG. Keep everything right now with Kubiak coming in. Grubb was beyond a bust. Haynes may find a spot in Kubiak's O... so let's target right tackle and LG for now.. there are holes there. We have guys at RG (hell we just spent a 3rd rounder on one).

RG this draft, I'd DON'T want to see. LG, maybe C, DEFINITELY right tackle/overall guard capability (I don't trust Lucas to hold up at all)...
