1 -- Profar
2 -- Andrus
3 -- Choo
4 -- Fielder
5 -- Beltre
6 -- Rios
7 -- Moreland
8 -- Soto
9 -- Martin

That's pretty interesting to me. I'd switch the top 2 and run it out there.
I think what Cowlishaw is missing here is the outstanding base runner Elvis truly is. Instincts like speed can not be taught.

Elvis really doesn't sport the obp in the leadoff position to be the leadoff hitter. I say leave the lineup as is.

:agree:
Lewin was goofy to play alongside TAG's goofyness ... that's what got him fired by Nolan. Nolan couldn't or didn't want to fire TAG too. Lewin was the best play-by-play guy of the bunch though.

Radio was invented to broadcast baseball games at night to kids and old men sitting out on the porch in July. Eric Nadel and perhaps Matt Hicks are radio play by play guys. They have to do the play by play and provide the visual color so we can 'see' what is going on in our imagination. Nadel provides a far more expansive picture of what is happening than does Busby (or the others) plus TAG.

Nadel is a radio broadcast artist.

Kendry Morales is still available , don't know if he's worth a giving up a 1st rounder, but he would make a nice DH .

Good choice for DH but not worth the cost (1st rd pick).

Is there a cutoff date when the pick is no longer applied? Seems like I remember this, but can't recall the specifics. Is it the start of the season?

Someone help me out please.

Nadel's broadcasting is god-tier, but it's unfair to compare TV to radio. Nobody needs Busby telling you what color the jersey and pant piping is, but it's nice to hear when you're driving.

I think firing Lewin was a mistake and I think hiring Rhads, who had virtually no P-b-P experience of any significance, was a bigger mistake. I don't blame Rhads for not being good at something hes never done, I blame the guy that hired him.

If it's the first of the season, bet people are standing in line to make him an offer.

:agree:...........That wasn't fair to Rhads at all. When his hiring was announced it surprised me no asked themselves how on earth this man was qualified for this position.

It wasn't as bad as Donald Carter hiring Quinn Buckner, but it was bad enough.

I found this somewhere in MLB Trade Rumors:

If any of the three compensation free agents is willing to wait until June 5th to sign, the draft pick compensation issue goes away and the players can be signed without forfeiture of a pick.

Gotta admit ....kendrys would make a really nice DH. He plays 1st, switch hits, ... The hold up might be his Agent , The Antichrist of Baseball. borass.

You do know the "Antichrist of Baseball" represents numerous Ranger players right?

I'm no fan of Scott Boras. But he bust ass to get his clients every dollar they can get, and the Rangers seem to have a very good working relationship with him.

The "fearsome foursome" as Boras called them in that article. The top 4 in our line-up are Boras clients. I'm not sure who else.

Exactly.

And I try not to ever lose sight of the fact the players hire this guy, not the other way around. I'm sure he drives a tough bargain when trying to sign a player; just like he does when representing that same player to teams.

I think that's his job description.
