Burgh Sports Rule and ramburgh have been eliminated from contention. Only Etrius and steelparrot remain, and it seems highly unlikely that the Pirates will either go winless or only win one more game over the rest of the season. (I hope, anyway.)
With the playoff clinching 90th victory tonight, the Pirates have moved to 90-67 (.573). This eliminates every player from contention except for steelparrot. The Pirates will have to lose their last five games in order for parrot to win, and while that is possible, it seems likely that no one will win this year because the Pirates exceeded all of our expectations.
I say rest all of the bullpen pitchers... all of them!!!!
Cumpton is getting the start... and Locke has gotten no work in the last few days so lets hope Cumpton can give 5 or 6 innings and then let Locke finish it.
grillis lack of velocity is really concerning to me.
not sure if he has enough guile to be the lock down closer the playoffs demand with every at bat being significant and hitters being really focused and working each AB a little more. especially the good teams.
None of us expected the Pirates to be the third best team in the NL (w-l record) but what is more amazing how down we all have over the years no one predicted the opposite record 68-94.
