I'd love for the Indians to get Merrifield...great hitter and player, just not sure where he fits in the lineup and they have a 2B. I guess they could put him in the two hole:

Hernandez
Merrifield
Lindor
Ramirez

That would work. I'm not sure what they would give up...Plesac is looking so good but he could be on the hot seat bc of the bonehead decision. Would love them to keep him but pitching is luxury.

I dont see the Sox giving up much of their prospects right now. I think they can win now without the addition especially if they keep scoring all those runs.

Offense only gets you so far, but it's the same for pitching too. The Indians have the best pitching in baseball, worst offense. Gotta be balanced. I think since the staff is shortened in the playoffs Chicago could have a chance but the AL is so tough. All I know this is going to be the hardest division in baseball to finish the year with 3 top teams. Indians NEED a bat desperately or they likely won't make it even with great SP.

The AL is pure trash beyond the top 7 teams. Thats my biggest worry actually. There is no reason for the soft style of the Twins to rush guys like Donaldson back because we have basically already clinched a playoff spot with 8 teams. Its all about seeding.

Not sure why I keep thinking it's less teams...anyway, yeah all 3 ALC teams will make the playoffs but the Indians aren't going anywhere with this shit offense. They will just lose in the 1st Rd or WC round.

The Indians would get fisted by the Yankees lol. Only way the Indians get out of the 1st round is if they get the best record in the AL..not happening.

So right now it would be:

1 A's vs 8 Blue Jays
2 Twins/Rays vs 7 Astros
3 Rays/Twins vs 6 White Sox
4 Yankees vs 5 Indians

I never heard an official explanation, but I'm going to guess is the Bulls gave Giolito #27 (likely at his request) because 27 obviously represents the number of outs in a game and when you're a starting pitcher, that means a complete game. And every starting pitcher loves throwing complete games in this day and age, being they are so rare.
