Not Coleman!Garrett obviously wants to be here. We have a need at edge. Having an elite QB on a rookie deal is found money in today NFL. It's the one unique situation where you go for it. Two #1s, Payne, and Coleman is kinda steep though. I'd still probably do it.
I actually don't want to trade Coleman or Payne. I'd rather do picks if I could. Not Coleman!
as a stop gap RG for cosmi on a cheap contract , yesWho would be opposed to a Brandon Scherff reunion next year?
Agreed. 1 yr 8mas a stop gap RG for cosmi on a cheap contract , yes

Allen is definitely trade bait. Payne's dead cap hit isn't desirable. It's just that to me, Allen is a little more professional and gives more effort. I'd love to have Allen line up next to Garrett. That said, I think Allen gets moved. We'll see what AP does.I'd prefer to trade Allen, Payne's contract would be problematic; unless they can also swap contracts!

I don't think Cleveland wants any part of Payne's contract. They probably ask for Coleman. They guy from Cleveland who was on Keim's pod said as much.Daron Payne signed a 4-year $90M contract, including a $28M signing bonus and $55M guaranteed, In comparison, Myles Garrett signed a 5-year, $125M contract, with $21M signing bonus and $100M guaranteed.
Payne signed his contract in 2023 and Garrett signed his contract in 2020. It should be noted that Garrett is due a roster bonus worth $5M on March 16th
I'm not clear on whether contracts are transferrable/ tradeable, however, under such a scenario, a pure Payne for Garrett contract swap the Browns would get a bit of cap relief. Right now, Cleveland has about $41.9M in cap space, Payne's cap hit for 2025 is $26,170,000, and Garrett's hit is $24,525, 212. ( saving $1,644,788) If done today Washington would owe Garrett $5M on March 16th.I don't think Cleveland wants any part of Payne's contract. They probably ask for Coleman. Over the Cap has Garrett at 19m. I know some sites vary.I'm not clear on whether contracts are transferrable/ tradeable, however, under such a scenario, a pure Payne for Garrett contract swap the Browns would get a bit of cap relief. Edit: The receiving team inherits the player’s existing contract. This means they take on all the terms agreed upon in the original contract, including the base salary, remaining guaranteed money, and any bonuses. This transfer requires the receiving team to carefully evaluate the player’s contract to ensure it aligns with their financial strategy.
Oh- no! My mistake!! (using a quote from the movie Young Frankenstein) "Damn my eyes!" I looked at that and noted the $19M in my mind then proceeded to use Denzel Ward's cap number! The ole' dude is slipping! Good catch!Over the Cap has Garrett at 19m. I know some sites vary.
All good.Oh- no! My mistake!! (using a quote from the movie Young Frankenstein) "Damn my eyes!" I looked at that and noted the $19M in my mind then proceeded to use Denzel Ward's cap number! The ole' boy is slipping! Good catch!
So, there would be considerable savings for the Browns!
