His lyrics were great as was his music. He is not even considered by the rock and roll HOF yet Kiss and the friggin Go Gos are in
Both Kiss and the Go Gos should be in there. I believe the RR HOF is more than about the music, it's also about cultural impact. Both those bands had a far bigger cultural impact the WZ...

Yeah I cannot agree that bands who are lyrically inept and were nothing but a gimmick belong in there when people like Zevon, Joe Cocker, The Cure, Joy Division, John Coltrane, etc on the outside looking in. JMHO

There are over 1,000 voters so I wouldn't question anybody who's in there, but I do agree it's totally fair to question why certain artist aren't in relative to others who are.

AS with any HOF. There's always some politics and oldtimers who just don't see certain people's values or have beliefs that will never change.

Same for sports.

Yah! Kiss began a trend of "men" wearing makeup. Hairbands with no talent but great promoting.

Kiss...Makeup, costumes and light shows. But sure, they had a significant impact.

The Go Go's...No.

You don't think the Go Gos had any impact? Did you sleep through the 80's? I know it's one song, but We've Got The Beats is quintessential 80's... I'm not saying you should like it, but all the sheep loved it.

Yeah it's still a stupid ass vastly overrated song, much like Warewolves of London. There impact on the 80s is insignificant compared to others

I never gave my own opinion on the Go Gos. Like you I wasn't listening to that.. I was 16, 17 listening to AC/DC, Billy Squire, Foreigner and J. Geils...

I listen to Money for Nothing now and I hear some really good guitar work and then mostly meh. But in 85 it blew up. THAT describes most of the popular music of the 80's and good or bad, pop is closely tied to the culture of a period.
