My Something good for humanity project: Rid the world of as much plastics as possible. No more bottled water water would be sold in waxed lined cardboard containers, no more plastic bottles holders cardboard boxes can be used etc. I would also have plastic repurposing grants allotted to University to further advance repurposing of plastics. All dump facilities would world wide would be mandated to a trash sifting area / teams that remove all plastics from entering land fills. Auto junk yards prior to crushing for scrap metal would be required to removed plastics. These efforts would also create jobs at the landfill areas and scrap yards. Scrap plastics can be sold like scrap metals to repurposing plants.

Good for humanity good for the earth
Glass.
Only because the wax lined cardboard may get wonky lest in a car in the summer.
Better to get back from a hike and drink warm water than warm waxy water.

Which Song Is Worse:

Eddie Murphy Party All The Time:

Nena: 99 Luftbaloons
Murphy stated that the song was made as a $100,000 bet between himself and Richard Pryor wagering on whether Murphy had singing talent or not.

I wonder what Prior did with the money. That song did really well in the charts, but I'd say it was because of the novelty of a very popular (at the time) Murphy. Michael Jackson would have done better, a no name but excellent singer would have gone no where.

Forgive me but this is my honest opinion.

"Follow the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding"
Well I assume that is meant for all humanity. And if that makes the world a better place it can't be bad

I could go with that as glass is widely repurposed.

I laugh when I see people buying bottled water. Especially Dasani.

Dasani is bottled by Coca Cola. This is the killer. Cheapest Dasani is about $1.29 for a bottle. About 20 oz.

Dasani is bottled in Manchester, NH. Dasani is taken from Lake Massabessic.

The water the runs from my tap is from Lake Massabessic. I drink it, I wash dishes and clothes in it. I was my car with it. I water my lawn with it.
I shower every day in a Dasani spray. My water/sewer bill comes every four months and it's never been higher than $160.00.

Do the math. Every four months I'm paying the cost of 50 gallons of Dasani off the shelf. Only difference is that I'm using about 15,000 gallons of it.
Forgive me for one-upping you.

Alhambra water get's paid dumping fees for dumping porta-potty waste.
They get paid government money for recycling the purified water.
They sell the shit to golf courses for fertilizer.
Then they sell the purified water as bottled water!

Picture young liberals at the fair, using the porta-potty and then buying a bottle of drinking water to carry around and look stylish!

Would be "tolerable" if we recycled more than 5%.

All that article states is efforts are not being put into it, not that it's not wise to do it.
We could so much improve the situation if we had/enforced 100% recycling.

Try and find a beer can on the road on Tuesday morning. Crackheads and smokers pick them up as fast as drunks throw them out the window

Except Coca Cola runs it through an RO unit.

Your municipality does not.

Furthermore, it goes straight from Reverse Osmosis through a distance of stainless steel pipe measured in feet into the bottle.

I'm sure that your tap water runs through miles of decades or even centuries old wood, Orangeburg, Transite, cast iron, ductile iron, PVC and HDPE pipe. A century or two of sediment to build up.

Additionally...Chlorine...

HUGE Difference between city water and Dasani. Or Aquafina.

I have built Water Treatment Plants, no not all by myself, in Vermont, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky.

Here at Fort Campbell is the ONLY municipal water I will drink straight from the tap. I will drink water from the ground first.

A friend of mine that I worked with here for a number of years spent a few years working for a lab in Atlanta after he graduated college, and said they got midnight shipments of liquid "Stuff" that had to be tested for anything and everything bacterial, viral or parasitic.
It didn't have any labels or discerning markings in the shipping but it was Coke, Diet and Classic, Sprite, Barq's, Fresca etc.

Coke, and Pepsi, spend massive amounts of money having their products independently tested to make sure that, even if it's not good for you, it's clean. Most municipalities have a compliance with the law means don't report anything bad method of operation.

Ahh Alabama. I had a friend from Philly that once told me as it relates to Pennsylvania. The land between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia is Alabama

In the mood for a burger and on the road. Are you more inclined to spend $20.00 on a joint like In N Out, Five Guys, Smashburger or $10.00 at Wendy's, Burger King, Mc Donalds?
