I was at the local butcher shop yesterday and saw they had Tomahawk cuts. I was talking with the butcher and he said the past cold, rainy, windy weekend left him overstocked because people were cancelling barbecues and other grill activities. I might go get some serious meat next weekend.
Tomahawk steak is a bone in ribeye with a piece of rib dangling out there. Don't pay extra for the extra piece of bone.

I fucking love chuck fatty flavorful and can be tender when done correctly. I do poor mans' brisket all the time which is great.
I love chuck too. If you like the flavor of chuck and want tender, try a flat-iron steak. Easy to get in Florida. Hader in California.....

Dry is your fault!
Your right. I never should have fallen for the hype.

I know two guys, one is my boss.
He is a former cattle farmer from Idaho. He said dry aged is a gimmick and why would you want to dry out your meet.
The second is a Wagyu farmer here in TN. He said he would never dry age any beef because...why do you want dry meet.

I tried it once, it was dry.
Flavor was good. It was tender. It was dry.

I prefer the flavor, tender juicy flavor and texture of non dry aged beef.

Agree but there is a small advantage to cooking any meat on the bone. The marrow and other substances from the bones actually flavor the meat, adding a depth of flavor that you can't get in boneless cuts of meat. There are also benefits to the cooking time due to the heat retained/emitted from the bone.

Tender and dry?
Does that make sense?

They cook differently than bag beef. Have to adjust cooking methods
They don't cook that differently the only thing that may vary is cooking time. Anyway much the extra bone on the Tomahawk I dont see the value in dry aged

Thunderstruck is a great song but it's an anthem (a very good one at that) and I discount anthems as the gimmicks of the music world. Sandman is a great song period, no gimmick needed.

Sandman. I certainly don't hold the people in that crowd accountable for the current events in Ukraine.

Bad teachers? Maybe.
Good teachers? Never.
Eye contact, train of thought, body language, follow up questions, emphasis on particular points by writing harder on the chalkboard...etc...

I do believe computers will one day replace teachers. Hal is that YOU? The technology keeps advancing but it's a pretty scary proposition

Don't confuse dry hanging beef whole carcass with dry aging steaks - very different!

correct, however the bone must be in contact with the meat. In the case of the tomohawk, the bone attached to the steak is helpful,
the bone sticking out there is cute and useless!

Certainly correct.

Even real teachers are biased to their own beliefs Teachers are notoriously liberal. I have a problem with that!
12 out of 13 professors are decidedly liberal. Go to college to be brainwashed.
I was no exception.
I remember my Literature Teacher, She was a beautiful bitter, divorced young feminist. I was very much a man. She hated me!.
