Mets 2B Jeff McNeil (strained left hamstring) was 1 for 4 with two strikeouts and played second base as he moved up to Triple-A Syracuse from High-A Brooklyn. ... RHP Miguel Castro (neck) threw a partial bullpen.

Mets ace Jacob deGrom (6-2) takes a 22-inning scoreless streak and a 0.56 ERA, the lowest in major league history through 10 starts, into his outing Wednesday against the Cubs and RHP Robert Stock (0-3, 4.12 at Triple-A), who will be selected from Triple-A Iowa to make his first big league appearance since last September with Boston. deGrom left his outing last Friday against San Diego after 6 innings with right flexor tendinitis. He got the win, allowed just 1 hit, while fanning 10 Padres' hitters.

Would love to add a starter sooner than later, no need to wait until the deadline. Doesn't have to be flashy, a solid vet that can put up innings and not get shelled everytime out. We could even afford to take a bad contract on to lower the cost.

Can't rely on Carrasco and Thor at this point, it'll be great if/when they come back but we also don't know what they're bringing to the table.

Peterson is a crapshoot and the Luchessi/opener by committee just isn't working. We're also paper think if anyone goes down.

That was a great cut off play by Pillar and then a perfect relay to Guillorme who threw an absolute bullet to McCann at the plate to nail the runner. ( 8 - 4 - 2) Absolutely huge.
Who knows how that game ends had they not gotten that crucial out.
Definitely belongs in the Mets' highlight reel top 10 defensive plays so far in the 1st half.

Don't know for sure but suspect it's a recurrence of the tendinitis from his last start. He will probably go on the DL for a couple of weeks now.

Edit: They just said shoulder soreness on the broadcast - so a different issue.
