On my way to the ballpark.

Hopefully they don't fall flat after last night's marathon loss...and they can give Jake some run support tonight.

Wow just wow.

I'm so glad I left the ballpark in the top of the 9th after Pete struck out.

Jake pitched his heart out for 7 innings...but these tired looking MF's couldn't muster at least 1 run??

I had just gotten off the metro a few blocks from my house a bit ago when I found out they lost 1-0 in the 10th on Dom Smith's error with 2 outs and the SF runner scored all the way from 1st.

B2B extra inning losses.

Disgusting.

The Mets scored more runs in 1 inning on Wednesday in Minnesota than they have in 26 innings of 2 games out here.

How the hell did I luck out??

:rolleyes2:

I had thought about going to the Sunday finale....but I'm gonna skip that for sure now.

What a damn embarrassment.

:L

It's one thing to see them stink it up on TV at home or online, but to sit there watching it live while surrounded by the other teams fans is not my thing these days.

Damn...it's really feast or famine with this team more times than not.

Mets finally broke out the bats today, winning 11-4.

HR's by Smith, McNeil, Frazier & a PH 3 run dinger from Alonso. They had 17 hits on the day.

Walker Lockett did a great job in his 5 innings..FTW!

They'll go for the series split tomorrow.

:suds:

Mets plan to activate Wheeler on Friday

NEW YORK -July 22, 2019 - The Mets plan to activate starting pitcher Zack Wheeler from the injured list Friday, a team official said, giving him one final showcase before the July 31 Trade Deadline.

Wheeler took a tangible step forward Sunday on his road back from a right shoulder impingement, throwing a bullpen session at Oracle Park without issue. His last remaining obstacle before activation will be a live batting practice session against hitters at Citi Field this week.

Jason Vargas, Noah Syndergaard and Jacob deGrom will start Tuesday through Thursday against the Padres. Although Wheeler was a candidate to pitch in one of those games, which would have given him two starts before the Trade Deadline, the club is proceeding cautiously with its most valuable trade chip.

In 19 starts, Wheeler is 6-6 with a 4.69 ERA. An impending free agent, he is considered one of the top starters available at the July 31 Deadline. The Brewers, Astros, Twins and Yankees are among those teams seeking starting pitching help.
