Mychal Givens allowed 1 run in the 8th but worked out of further trouble.
Mets scored twice in the home 8th..to make it 6-1.
Trevor May is in for the 9th.

Edit:
May gave up a 2 out solo HR but shut the door.

Mets win the nite cap 6-2...to sweep the twin bill.
The NL east lead is now 5.5 games.

Sadly I don't trust a single person in this bullpen other than Diaz.

Player of the Game: Max Scherzer

Scherzer continues to defy logic and add to his legacy as one of the best pitchers in the history of the league. In fact, he moved into fourth place all-time in double-digit strikeout games with 109, passing Pedro Martinez and moving within one game of tying Roger Clemens with 110. His season ERA is down to a pristine 1.98 mark, and he continues to be worth every penny that the Mets paid for his services back in the offseason.

Final line for Scherzer: 7.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 11 K
