Hoping for a rain-out tomorrow, Mets need some rest, get to Philly early.

Tonight is our annual trek to Coney Island to see the Cyclones. We've had some good times there; saw Jose Reyes on a rehab assignment, and Alfonzo threw my son a foul ball once

Nice, last year's game had to be great, most of our studs have graduated. At some point I'll make my way out there (never been to Coney Island).

Missed last year due to the pandemic. In fact, it might be 3 or 4 years since we went, so I probably should re-think the use of the word "annual"

It's a fun little ball park, right on the ocean. And like most minor league teams, they have some crazy in-between-innings giveaways that are often hilarious.

Only thing I don't like is the artificial surface. It's awful, and there are some really bad hops as a result. I guess they would have a hard time growing actual grass that close to the seawater

Dang...I haven't been to C.I. in decades. Early 80's during a trip back to NY (Westchester county) to visit family.
Good times.

Enjoy the game. Stay away from the Nathan's stands.....lol

Go Clones!

You wouldn't recognize it. Still got a few dumpy parts but a lot nicer than the 80's or early 90's

Yeah I know....I've seen lots of pics.
Some of it was in ill-repair even back then..but it gave the place a bit of it's historical old time charm...to me anyway.

All good. Glad much of it has been been upgraded, refurbished and modernized. It was needed.
There must of been so many insurance and liability issues too.

My dad would take us kids flounder fishing off Rockaway beach, and sometimes Rye back in the day on L.I. sound, and afterwards we'd either go to C.I. or Playland to go on the rides.

Mets give one away.....wasting another nice deGrom start.
Some Mets players are pressing/struggling and need a day or 2 off to recharge.

Silver lining...we're still in 1st place by 3.5 games.

Mets drop the series finale 3-2.....going 1-3 in the 4 game set.

Trainer's Room:

Mets RHP Taijuan Walker (back spasms) played catch and will pitch Sunday if he feels fully healthy.

Up Next:

Mets RHP Chris Bassitt (10-7, 3.26 ERA) will face Phillies RHP Aaron Nola (8-9, 3.08 ) when New York opens a four-game series at Philadelphia on Friday.

Well, that was payback for the previous series in NY. Still lead the division and the season series for now.

And the Cyclones got pummeled by Hudson Valley (Yanks) 11-4 last night, but we had fun
