The only wrestling podcast I listen to is Edge and Christians Podcast of Awsomeness

I liked the 3 part Steve Austin podcast w/ Kevin Nash episodes mostly talking about the NWO and a lot of the challenges of life on the road in the 90s.

Love that one, and Austin with Hall (twice) or DDP.

I've listened to hundreds of hours of shoots over the years.

Honkey Tonk is always a must listen, as are Hall and Nash, X-Pac, Raven, Prichard, and Cornette.

You fucks better stop bashing HBK or I'm going to hex your souls! HBK is one of the greatest of all time. Amazing in-ring performer, one of the best on the mic, and he started arguably the greatest faction in pro wrestling history.

I'll grant you HBK is an amazing performer but a shit human being. His mic skills were good but not great. And DX was the poor mans n.W.o, that got better after he was "retired".

The original DX is a pillar of the Attitude Era. They pushed the envelope on everything they did in the ring. Much better faction as heels.

And a shit human being? When the fuck did HBK shit in your breakfast cereal?

Seriously? The nwo started the attitude era.

And hbk did all kinda of bs, including refusing to drop the belt to Vader

The Attitude Era is WWF homeboy, not WCW. The NWO triggered the Monday Night Wars.

You don’t have any of that stuff if the nwo doesn’t work out.

The NWO was one of many ideas that forced Vince to change the direction of his company. That still doesn't put the NWO in the Attitude Era.

DX didn't start the attitude era. The exact start is hard to define. I'd argue it was when Diesel flipped off Taker. It's undeniable it had begun when Austin gave his 3:16. Bret was crucial in it. As was HBK. The n.W.o undeniably.

And everyone and I mean everyone, including Shawn will admit he was the queen of all khunts back then.

WWE has always claimed the Attitude Era began on December 15, 1997, the night Vince gave the "tired of your intelligence being insulted speech". Many believe it was born the night of the Screwjob....while several others think it was the 1996 King of the Ring.

IMO it was born sometime in 1997. Austin gave his 3:16 speech in 1996, but the character didn't really take off until the match with Bret Hart at WM13. I might agree with the Screwjob being the start. HBK's character started the degenerate trail, Stone Cold was on the rise (beat Owen for the IC title), and even The Rock was getting closer to main events as a member of the Nation.

As I say, it's debatable. The seeds were sewn for some time. But I think it's wrong to constrict the "attitude era" only to WWE. The n.W.o and crow Sting were very much a biproduct.

Again, "The Attitude Era" does NOT encompass WCW. What you're talking about is the Monday Night Wars.

The Monday night wars was the ratings battle between the two. But both encompassed the attitude era.
