Nope. Who is Conrad? I have a 2nd cousin named Conrad.
He Conrad Thompson runs a podcast and he will, for hours, break down WWE or WCW with Bruce Brichard of Eric Bischoff or Tony Schivoni. The one with Bischoff is called 83 Weeks, and each 2 hour podcast they'll break down a character or angle or PPv etc. they've done the NWO invasion, the ginger poke of doom, Goldberg, Jericho, Flair vs Bischoff, etc etc etc. they did one on Starcade 97 and it's a must listen. According the Bishoff, Sting showed up undersized/scrawny and pale and his head "wasn't in the game" so they changed the finish. Of course, that's bullshit - Eric is a Hogan bootlicking lackey, so he is covering. Hogan power played the finish to look clean.

Funny since the story before that was sting showed up out of shape.

But yeah giving these guys creative control of their characters caused major headaches with any kind of long term planning.

That podcast lost a lot of credibility when they claimed Bret screwed Bret.

Bret got an extra week reprieve from ace, didn’t start until mid December anyway, and offered to drop the title the next night after survivor series.

There was zero need for Vince to pull the that bs. Especially when Owen and the bulldog had different orders

I could talk about the Screwjob for hours. I'm a big Bret Hart mark, so, I feel he got uber shafted and HBK was a complete shit, but I've heard so much from so many I can understand why Vince did what he did.

It’s bs. He had WEEKS to have him drop the belt. And he was the one who reneged on a huge deal with Bret

Oh I agree. The whole thing was a perfect storm of egos, bad booking/planning, the times (Monday night wars), etc all leading towards inevitable disaster/history.

Michaels was a dick.

Never liked him, and he’s even worse in real life

Michaels winning at wm12 really waned my interest in wwf for a while. The screw job put me on WCW almost completely

And the finger poke with the rock brought me back to wwf

I love the Iron Man match. I hate HBK but I can't deny his skill, and he and Bret were each the best in their own way...and they put on a beautiful match. But Micheals being a twat and refusing to return the favor to Bret was bullshit. But I'm okay with it cuz it gave us Stone Cold vs Bret at WM13.

Overrated talent.

He was no Owen. Who never got the strap.

And the ending to the iron man match was horrible.

So lets speculate and say WCW had pulled out the win and shut down the WWE instead of the reverse.

What would have happened then? WCW was all set for a Vegas move (where I think they could have thrived if they did it right).

Suddenly you have the main player in the west with corporate ownership. Corporate would have a manager (persumably Bishoff) instead of an all powerful boss. They might be able to expand their tv base.

BUT there is suddenly a power vacuum in the typical main wrestling areas. The NE, SE, and Midlands have no distinct big player.

I don't think the corporate bosses would be as interested in complete domination of the "sport" as Vince is. Do the territories return? What happens?

See, I thought the ending was brilliant cuz it protected both. Bret could claim he had Shawn in the Sharpshooter (and tapping was inevitable), restarting the match in sudden death allowed Michales to his Sweet Chin Music and win clean, but Bret wasn't hurt.

Hard to save face when you lose clean to an inferior talent
