No I"ve watched quite a few of his games. I work for a website that does a ton of draft content. So have watched hours upon hours of video of this draft. I've watched about 5 of Watson's games. I've watched some of his great ones like the NC and some of his worst ones. I see a guy that when his first progression is open does amazing. I see a guy that when he can get outside the pocket and have his athleticism buy him time can find an open WR. What I don't see is a guy that sits in the pocket works his way through his progressions to find the open guy. I don't see a guy that gets to the LOS, reads a defense, and then adjusts to what he is seeing. He is your typical Shot gun read/option QB that does better than most running that system.

Now that doesn't mean he can't improve. My biggest thing with him is I view him as a 2-year project. Not saying I don't see the same for Trubisky. I honestly don't like any of the QB's in this draft. Trubisky though to me is the one I have seen do some actual pro concepts and I feel like you can build him up into a pretty good starting QB. I would never say top-5 by any means but to a pretty good QB.

I agree. And a guy that doesn't go through his progressions in college will have a learning curve in the NFL.

I also write for a website that does a ton of NFL draft content and I've watched most of Watsons games and I just don't agree. I've seen him read through his progressions plenty. He doesn't always have to at Clemson because people are open and he has Williams, but he can do it. People said the same things about Cam and Matiota as well.

Mike Evans and Desean Jackson ain't a bad combo.

Yeah forgot they picked up Deshean but I don't see that as a long-term weapon. I still think they need one more weapon to help Jameis

Man, I need to pay more attention to free agency. Im a little rusty because I didnt do a mock draft this year. Thats actually a decent set up with maybe WR as a need and not a major one.

Well we fit right into the draft community then who are torn on the QB's for this draft. I know they had 23 GM's polled about a month ago of who is the top QB in this draft and Trubisky had like 8, Watson had 7, and a few other QB's got a couple of votes.

Again why the QB position is so tough to evaluate.

Also I will say though with Cam that was a struggle for him early on in his career and even still not his strongest part of his game. Mariota has improved on that area but he still struggles with staying in the pocket and going through his progressions. Still wants to get out of the pocket and run around and well it has lead to him suffering injuries in both of his seasons in the NFL.

I meant inconsistency throughout the season
So does that mean Chad Kelly is going to be a great NFL QB? I mean he lit up that Alabama defense for 2 straight years?

And you read my mind as I was about to post that about Tim Tebow.

I guess if you want a QB that only started 1 season that has done pretty darn well in the NFL then Cam Newton is your guy. He was Tim Tebow's back up then transferred and well lit it up for Auburn and became the #1 overall pick and of course MVP.

Chad Kelly just might be the best QB in the draft. He has the tools, it's all a matter of what's going on in that noggin. He needs to clean up his decision making, both on and off the field.

If I were a GM and I wanted Watson.. My choice in that poll would be Potato salad

Dak was top 3 for yards all time in SEC and top 10 in TDs. He ran plenty. Not sure about the bigger arm - Watson can sling it.

What say you @Edisto_Tiger

Was looking more at his last yr. Actually they both tapered off in their last yr in school. You're right, pretty even over 3 yrs.

Watson's critics seem to think he has a weak arm and maybe I've bought into that. Dak was noted to have a strong arm.

Watson can sling it. I think the media just gets bored and needs to hype up a QB or 2 every year. They need some story to get people to watch.
