I just hope people understand we aren't voting for the teams that drafted the best players we should be voting on who filled their team needs best.

I call BS on this... Drafting needs is not what the draft is about.... The draft is about making your team better for now and/or the future... Sometimes you will draft BPA, despite it not being a need, other times you disagree that filling in a specific need is necessary

We did pretty good today fellas, thank you.

New England @BigKen is OTC so I think we are probably done for the night.

Shane said he sent Ritz his pick like an hour ago but Ritz has just been sitting on it! :gaah:

Yeah like anyone who knows me would know that's not any where close to the truth. I rush everything. My wife tells me to slow down and it's not a race but as the great Ricky Bobby once said "if your not first your last".

We cant just give the team who drafted the best players the win otherwise the teams that drafted early and the teams that had the most picks early are the winners, we might as well quit now if that's how we are gonna vote.

I'm cool with a combo of making the team better/drafting the team needs...

How about just leave it like we always have it... Vote for the team you think did best for whatever reason...

I agree and disagree. I agree that drafting is about drafting for now and the future. However just cuz the player was BPA doesn't always mean he should be taken. What if you have Andrew Luck and great backup and the BPA is Paxton Lynch I disagree with taking him. I say drafting is a mixture of both BPA and team need. You try to get team needs with good value. If you get great value on a player but he won't start till next year I say then you take him cuz it will help your team in the long run. Everyone has a different opinion on the draft I'm just stating my useless thoughts on taking best value on a team need when selecting.

If we do that the teams that drafted early got the best players and already have the advantage, the teams that had the most early picks also have an advantage. Teams that had 10 picks have an advantage over a team that has 7 picks that's just not fair to everyone.

There are 3 strategies i can think of, sure there is more...

1. BPA
2. Team needs
3. Strengthen the strengths...

But I'm tired of Nos winning because of this stupid rule of having the best team. :bawling:

But don't they have the advantage anyway since they have so many picks that it is hard not to draft needs...

On a positive note, I have watched 11 hours of baseball today, working at home during baseball season = priceless

Damn Broncos took back to back picks who I desired highly. Thought Dak Prescott would have been a great backup to Cousins and since Silas Redd just got suspended Skins now need a RB and Jonathon Williams was added (now deleted) to my draft list. Great picks Denver :suds:

In certain situations yes, not in this one!
I didn't like either pick tbh. The price tag to get RGIII was steep and I never was impressed with KC when he was in East Lansing. Still don't like him as a starter now, despite winning a bad division this year. Really don't like his salary, even on a year long deal.

But if you think you're going to be forced to start a rookie at QB, I like the idea of another rookie learning and pushing him. With the assumption that a vet will also be there to lead by example on a day to day basis.

(The other end of the spectrum is what I've seen with my Lions. We took Staff at #1, handed him the starting gig over a fat Culpepper(which really pissed me off)and haven't drafted a QB since. That didn't do him or the team any favors.)

Depending on the level of prospect... RG3 was an elite prospect, so any other rookie will at least start as the backup... Giving competition to rookies is only good if there is a clear choice...

The last thing you want to do is have 2 non-elite prospects competing for the same job...

This is why i will be annoyed if the Jets draft a QB in the first 3 rounds, unless they trade up for either of the big 2...

Why would you not want competition?

No athlete should be handed a job right out of the gate. It's bad for the athlete, and bad buissness.

If a higher draft pick can't beat out a lower one, tough tookies. Imo. (Neither of those "big two" should be starting right away. They aren't going to be acclimated to the system by the end of camp. I like em long term, but not year one at all.)

Slightly different scenario, but Seattle gave Flynn all that dough after tossing for 500 yards and drafted a QB to compete for the job. Flynn lost the competion, for obvious reasons now. But he didn't get signed to that contract to be a backup.

If a players ego can't handle competition he isn't worth relying on anyway. Imo.
