Reds acquired LHP Luis Cessa and LHP Justin Wilson from the Yankees for a player to be named later.​

The news was announced by the Yankees' official Twitter account late Tuesday night. Cessa has posted a strong 2.82 ERA with 31 strikeouts in 38 1/3 innings this season and will give the Reds a nice upgrade in mid-to-long relief.

I read this move was to open up a 40 man spot for another move.

I don't care for Story or Blackmon. Story is a rental and Blackmon would cost too much and not sure he is what he use to be.

Story is a rental in a bad culture or a team that can’t afford to keep him. Blackmon isn’t what he once was but him in LF over Shed Long I think is an upgrade. The Mariners has 2 years to just spend like drunken sailors because it doesn’t mean anything.

I think this is a bad overpay for the A's. Might help them towards a wild card this year but I think they will regret it.

Brewers acquired INF Eduardo Escobar from the Brewers in exchange for INF Alberto Ciprian and OF Cooper Hummel.​

The 32-year-old All-Star will provide an immediate boost to the Brewers lineup. Escobar is currently batting .246 with 22 home runs, 65 RBI, and 50 runs scored over 370 at-bats and has the seventh most RBI in the majors since 2019 (203). It remains to be seen where Milwaukee will place the infielder every day, as Escobar has played mostly third base this season in Arizona.
