Had that happened one of those two would’ve broken Babe’s record. Much like how Maris did strictly based off of having Mantle protecting him.

Especially weird since the Giants were much more financially set that than the Braves who were in the middle of their bouncing around the country spree.

Dang, not like $50 is a lot but it seemed like that was a lot more in the 50’s. Baseball has come along way that dudes won’t sign for 1.5 million cause they want 2 million.
