Re-donckulous.....This is why I can't buy a $10-20 ticket to Opening day, let alone the Stub-Hub asking price of $70+. I LOVE sports, but, c'mon.......4+ million average salary.......stupid.Red Sox extend Porcello for 4 years, $82.5M. Uh....wow! .
Red Sox extend Porcello for 4 years, $82.5M. Uh....wow! Mariners should start locking up Paxton and Walker like Indians are doing with their guys. Mediocre pitching is getting expensive.
This is a ton of money for a guy i consider to be a 3 in a rotation at best. Of course it is the Red Sox and they are lacking in pitching right now.
The way the Red Sox have been spending money lately is dumb in my opinion. This is a team that is literally throwing money away and knowingly doing it. I do not think the way they are spending money is sustainable. That being said they aren't even close to what the Dodgers are spending.
I think a good GM has to be able to do a balancing act with money a big part of that is timing and getting everything to align just right at the right time then sustain it. There is a difference between a good GM and a lazy GM that just spends a shit load of money
Isn't it better for the M's if the A's start off red hot? Under Beane when they start off slow they seem to pick it up at the end of the year and when they start off great they die like last year.
You guys see what Arizona is doing? They signed the Cuban Yasmany Tomas to a HUGE contract. Sent him down to start the year,,,, just recalled him to "be there bat off the bench"
What a dumpster fire thats turning into a 60 million dollar man as your willie bloomquist.
I knew a Cuban player wouldn't work out at some point. I sort of expected it to happen when we signed one. But looks like Zona is well on their way. Kids still young, but sitting on the bench day in and day out doesn't help anyones career.
I believe this is Zona's way of teaching the kid that you are being paid like a big leaguer so get your ass in shape like a big leaguer. Not sure he won't work out, but he definitely needs to work out.
Oh its a shape thing? I thought it was that they were trying to make him into a third baseman and he just can't play the position. Also hitting big league pitching wasn't as easy for him as it was for Abreu.
lol
i was hoping we'd sign him, actually, but i didn't realize he was so determined to become a building rather than an MLB player.
that's just obese.
