Was it a CBI or an NIT invite?

That's valuable game experience in my opinion. Nevermind that even if you win it you might end up ranked 60th in the country at best, it's just more experience. I don't get why they would ever turn that down.

Michigan, Ohio State, Iowa, Wichita State, and most recently Miami weren't above playing in the NIT, so if they turned that down I don't know what delusions of grandeur smiles is having but a dose of reality might serve him well if that's the case.

Creighton wasn't above playing in the CBI in 2011...

I'm guessing it had more to do with the Seniors than anything.

Shavon and Benny didn't want to play in a tournament that meant nothing.

I doubt it was Miles' decision.

I'm gonna miss the shit out of those guys.

Nobody is going to fill Shavon's shoes by themselves, but I hope Watson can step up his Defense even more and take over for what Benny was able to do.

I expected us to start picking up 5 stars by this point in Miles's tenure.

It's just not gonna happen without some legitimate reloading and talent upgrades across the board and I don't see that happening.

I doubt it was NIT invite. I'm guessing CBI or the new Las Vegas one. Sucks it's over. Shavon especially is going to be missed

If it was NIT (doubtful, but if) they likely turned it down because the games would have been on the road.

If it was CBI (likely) it's stupidity because they could have hosted games in the PBA (revenue) and given the returning players experience.

Oh well. I think sMiles deserves one more season to see if he can get back to the NCAA Tourney. There is some quality talent returning.

If the players don't want to play in it then it would be a waste of time playing in it.

We would perform poorly and look even worse.

Nebraska (16-18, 6-12) was in contact with organizers of two postseason events — the 16-team College Basketball Invitational and the Vegas 16.

The CBI required a $40,000 fee to host a home game. The Vegas 16 charges $50,000 to enter a five-day, one-site event.

Interesting. From Omaha world herald

I would have been just fine with them accepting the bid.

I'm just saying if the players voted and said they didn't want to play (particularly the seniors) then there is no sense in playing. No team plays well when they don't care to be playing.

It's obvious they didn't want to play because they voted it down as a team.

What kind of players and coach turns down a chance to play more games?!
