Joyce Clark (Glendale council member) is at it again:

Fred Poulin ‏@FredPoulin98
Joyce Clark on sales tax hike: "These Canadian poachers can't do anything about this tax hike."

Hey Joyce, how about instead of focusing on Canadians, organize a season ticket purchase drive (you know, like they did in Winnipeg) to secure the team's future in Glendale.

Biznasty has contributed to arizonians views of canadians as "poachers"

He's been hunting, bagging and stuffing easy prey for a few years now

RT @LisaHalverstadt: Just in: #Glendale and Goldwater attorneys are set to appear before Judge Dean Fink at 10:30 a.m. next Tuesday #Coyotes

I guess Judge Dean Martin was unavailable...

I like having the yotes in Phoenix....

ducks

Hey, if the fan support we saw in the playoffs can carry over to the regular season (and the fans are willing to pay NHL average ticket prices), then I don't mind the Yotes staying in Phoenix either. I think the main reason Bettman wants to keep the Yotes in Phoenix is he wants to save places like Seattle for expansion (and the huge expansion fees that get distributed to all owners in the league).

That plus Phoenix has become an important TV market for teh national contracts. The broadcast rights are worth more than if he let the team move to Quebec. Seattle would work well too (but not as strong as Phoenix) but you're probably right about expansion fees

Daniel Blanchet ‏@mxdan316

Bill Daly confirms to @patrickcaisse that NHL accepted to give Glendale an extra 30 days to reach a deal and make it work. #Coyotes

I don't understand, I think it's a no-brainer that they'll get the required signatures to force a referendum, what does this 30 day extension do?

Just because I know you guys love Coyotes updates:

Fred Poulin ‏@FredPoulin98
City of Glendale just confirmed it will not give another $25M to the #NHL to manage the #Coyotes, so Jamison needs to buy the team or poof!

Lisa Halverstadt ‏@LisaHalverstadt
.@danybrisson #Glendale resident Ken Jones, who is gathering signatures vs. #Coyotes deal, says his group has collected "several hundred."

Yotes staying in PHX

Provided Jamieson can close the deal (still doesn't have the money/financing in place last time I checked). Also, if they get the required votes to force a referendum, that could sour the deal. Then there's always the Goldwater Institute causing trouble.

This is still far from a done deal.

/They might not be staying in Phoenix, but they're not heading to Portland either.

Why, is the mayor trying to steal them from the owner?

Most of the signers were like "What is hockey?"
