Yeah. He's 10th in era and 7th in whip. So horrible. /sarcasm

I never said he's horrible. I simply stated the facts and stats which shows he has regressed as the season has gone on. His last couple months were over a 4 ERA and he's been a mediocre picture at best while giving up 7 ER in his last game.

5 games is fine. What you need to do is get rid of the extra off day. The better teams are better because they got deeper benches and rotations. The extra off day nullifies that advantage. Right now you can win a 5 game series with 1 dominant SP. That's not right imo. A team right now could legit only use 3 guys in a 5 game series. That's not how baseball is supposed to work
But who has gone with a 3-man rotation recently? Sure, a team COULD do it, but it just doesn't happen.

It's been awhile but it's still a possibility that I don't like PLUS the extra off day makes it easier to yank your DO early when he's in trouble because you can use a starter from earlier in the series who may be available only because if that extra day rest ( see MadBum in 14 WS) or because your entire pen got an extra day. ALL postseason series should have 1 off day and no more imo. That keeps it most close to the regular season

Actually it doesn't. During the regular season you don't fly from DC to LA (or vice Versace) without a travel day (normally).

Eh teams travel all the time without an off day. A 4 hour flight instead of a 2 hour one is irrelevant if it keeps the series legit. As I said the extra off day almost always favors the team with the worse record because they simply aren't as deep generallt. If you really want the best teams to advance this would do it better than anything else you could do

Doesn't matter how good MadBum is...the Giants' absentee offense needs to do something....

Believe e, I hope San Fran can make a series out if this thing, but their offense hasn't been all that impressive. They have scored 2 runs in 18 innings

Coolio, but you got to listen to me when I say the regular season is biased against teams with elite bullpens because you can't use them for 2-3 innings without consequence like you can often times in the playoffs. A lot of times this lack of "depth" is code for it's not depth being applied aggressively. Postseason is a different game, and it SHOULD be that way.

Probably biased...

Not a good sign for the Giants. Bumgarner is up to 37 pitches with 1 out in the 2nd. Once Arrieta pitches well, I love the Cubs chances to end it tonight
