Before Venters started having arm problems, his stuff was better than Kimbrel's. Ain't what he used to be, but it is amazing he was able to come back at all.

Before this season, Venters' last MLB pitch was in Chipper's last career game. Chipper was inducted into the HOF this year.

This game sucks, don't get me wrong, but there is a few positive things to take from it.

Mainly, Newcomb didn't melt down on the big stage, and Fried looked good too. I'm all for trading Newk in the offseason, and Fried is a candidate to take his spot in the rotation. Kind of wish Kyle Wright was on the postseason roster though.

Touki is our ace by 2020. I like Fried more than Newk but its obvious our FO prefers Newk over Fried.

What we need to do if we want to have any chance at all tomorrow is start Ryan Flaherty in left field and bat him leadoff, and the first pitch that is even remotely inside, have FLaherty charge the mound and force Kershaw to throw a punch and get ejected.

Put Acuna back in at left field and hope we can do something against the Dodgers bullpen and hope Sanchez pitches a good game.

Flaherty will be suspended the rest of the series, Snit probably will too, but we wouldn't miss either.

It's the only chance we have tomorrow.
