Surprise Motherfucker
Wow nice pickoff
He so wildly overachieves in the regular season that its altering your expectations. Most people who have watched baseball the past month had pegged the Cubs as the it team and the Cardinals are a team that was too wounded.because he consistently makes all the wrong moves in the postseason and gets badly outmanaged. he's been especially awful with the pitching staff, knowing who to go with, when to pull them, etc. hasn't been much better with the positional guys either.
this will likely be the 4th season in a row now where the Cards entered the post season as sizable favorites and have failed badly.
A Cubs lead off hitter swinging for the fences? Where have I seen this before...Fowler still swinging for the fences. You're a lead-off hitter. Act like it

Whats really going on here is that the Matt Holliday, Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina era has wound down.
Look at that roster right now. The big Pinch Hitter is Pham. Tony Cruz needed in the clutch. Lester is a home cooking guy pitching on the road. The team is banged up. The depth isnt there.fair enough and some of that i agree with. but at the same time, the Cards have a number of young talented positional guys so it's not like they've been too veteran dependent. it just seems like he always makes the wrong moves when it matters the most and, for me, that's a big knock when evaluating.
if the Cards lose today, he'll be under .500 in the postseason and the franchise will have to feel like they've left at least a couple titles on the table the last 4 seasons.

How is Cruz on a MLB roster? I'm serious in that I don't know if I've ever seen a worse catcher and as a twins fan who has seen Drew Butera, Chris Hermann and Eric Fryer...that's saying something
Ehh. I agree he sucks, but we're talking about a backup catcher. If a catcher can hit, he'd be starting.
So, then he should act like that in THIS series... Which is the complaint. He has a lifetime OBP of .363 (.346 this year, and the league average was .317). I'd say he's done a pretty good job acting like that.
Is anyone with droider in thinking that the Cardinals should have more titles? I can't think of a season where a god of coaching would've mattered recently.
They don't. Bottom of the lineup has been an issue in the past for the Cardinals but their pitching was always lights out. The Cubs hit them too well and really its just been CubsJust don't think the Cards have enough offense for this.
